Sunday: A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 1pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 76. South wind between 10 and 15 mph.

Only 30! I should have it done by then, or finish in the garage if necessary, then off fishing. :drunk2:

frdtch05gt 5/24/08 06:39 PM

I don't think a 30 percent chance of rain is much of anything to worry about. The main chance of rain will be later in the afternoon and evening anyway.

Well guys another great dyno day at Brenspeed.

On the very first pull when first hitting WOT in 4th, my clutch slipped.... :shame: But after that, the next two pulls were fine. :dunno:

Darrell, I loaded the standard mail-order Saleen tune from Brent and ran the dyno with my 18" DD chromes on..... the car pulled 453 rwhp and 425 tq!

frdtch05gt 5/24/08 07:23 PM

Nice numbers Tom! :nice:

Good numbers. Sounds like your not to far away from that new clutch. What tune do you run most of the time?

tom281 5/25/08 05:57 AM

I've been running the mail-order tune for a few weeks...... idle is a tad smoother and the power is there for sure. :metal:

Yes, the standard "mail order" tune that he sends out with the Saleen kits. In comparison to the custom tune they did back in January....... The mailed tune is just as strong if not stronger, and my air/fuel on the dyno yesterday was razor flat and hung right around 11.8 to 12.0.

thats good to know. Glad Brenspeed's Dyno when good.

I was at my Ford Dealers Mustang days. They are now a dealer for Saleen and Roush. They had a Saleen S7 and a Demo of the new Raptor. Also they had the Saleen Hertiage (only 25 made) with 625hp, The Dan Gurney Saleen, A Parelli Jones Saleen, 3 Roush R427's, A Black Bullet, A Red Shelby GT 500, A couple of Shelby's GT, and a white Calf. Special.

Tom I found the seats you need in the Dan Gurney

So, how's everyone's holiday weekend going so far? The picnic today was pretty good other than a light rain shower that lasted maybe 10-15 minutes and then it cleared and warmed right up. Overall, not too bad compared with what I've been through before.

Tom had Corsa's early on. Not sure of the model # though. And I believe he ran it with an offroad X pipe if memory serves correctly.

tom281 5/26/08 08:47 AM

Yes, I ran them with the Pypes offroad H for about a year. I liked them..... by comparison to the Borlas they are a tad louder and a much more exotic sound; not as low of tone but still very muscular.

If you search the GT tech forum for Borla vs. Corsa, I believe I posted a bunch of vids there last year.

So Borla's with give me a deep tone??

Borlas will give you a lower, more "feel-able" tone that's for sure. That is, using an offroad H pipe. However with Borlas and o/r H, you may opt for resonators like I chose, but I'd try it first and see if you like it without them.

Well I'm going in a different direction with my Exhaust.

Tom sorry to hear about your clutch, that stock one from Brenspeed when for about $80 with the flywheel.

Well you have my interest peak about your "different direction" on your exhaust. Have you found an exhaust at half the price...that is twice as easy to install...and that sounds twice as good as all others. Don't leave us hanging Darrell. Your such a tease!!:jester: Tell more.

Have had some vanity plates laying around for years now and finally took a little time to hang them up in the 70 Mach 1 garage. But I wonder what those 1965 plates that Karens dad had and we restored when we owned her 1965 convertible might be worth to the right guy next month ? We could never sell them and won't but if the right Ohio guy was at the MCA meet next month....what may they be worth.? The one plates is still sealed in a plastic bag from the guy that restored them in 2001. They are perfect repo's of the originals.

If they are chome they will look like the bumper on your truck. If they are ceramic coated they will have a more satin type of look to them. Never heard of polished ceramic.

How do you tell if headers are just chrome or Polished Ceramic???

I know my ceramic coating, although not polished, is pretty dull. I would think that even polished it would not look much like a typical chrome finish. :dunno:

Tough call Darrell. But what I know is you can't polish something to an equal texture in the tight places. :dunno:

Well guys I'm officially pissed off..... I have a photoshoot scheduled for next weekend, so I thought I'd start getting the car cleaned up and prepared. My calipers are painted and have developed some chips so I raised the car up and supported it on stands and went to remove my tires.

On the first attempt, the key to my wheel locks shattered! Literally the internal engraving (the part that fits into the lock) just went into a hundred pieces. I managed to get it out of the lock, but the key is junk so now I can't remove my friggin' wheels. I pulled the lock ID card and called the place, and of couse they're not open on Saturdays. I really, really hope I can get them to overnight me a new key for delivery on Tuesday.

Ouch, that sucks.

Were they this style?

Well that really does suck. You might want to buy 2 of them so you have a backup:banghead: I would also recommend different lugs. These are what I have. They seem very strong.

Aw shucks - I have a blue wrench that will get those wheels right off in just a few minutes...

My father-in-law was the blacksmith at Navistar in Indy and he gave me all his welding supplies when he retired...
