Thanks!

ABC News out here has a small segment every morning called I love my car. And you send a photo in and tell them why you love your car. And you hope they put it on air. I was a lucky one and got aired.
Along with another buddies S197 GT same color, lol.

Glad to hear everything is going well for you Cody. :nice:

I am on vacation from work right now, everything is going well. I fixed 2 cars that needed repairs, one was quite a big job--lower intake gaskets on a 3.4 Chevy Impala. The car runs good though, I'm glad it's all done. I need to take a look at the Escort for a problem in the left front, possibly a ball joint or wheel bearing is bad. I also got my compass/temp mirror on Wednesday, I will do that install this week too.

Rough flights home. Rode up the back bone of that big storm system all the way. I really don't like to fly much.:shame:
Cody...glad to hear you got everything under one roof now.

Justin...glad you got your mirror. They tried to deliver mine today but required a signature and no one was home. So hope I can hook up with them on Monday.

Missed one today, I had to cover for a Vacation day at work. The daily evening Cruises started May 1st. Everynight of the week you can go to certain drive-ins for a car show. The best is Sunday night at a old Ice cream joint called Bonnie Doon's. They fit about 60 cars in a 20 car parking lot and they have a traveling DJ that plays 50's, 60's and 70's music out of a trailer that he has sit up as a Radio DJ's Booth. Here are some pictures from last year.

I started installing my mirror today, got the sensor mounted and started routing the wiring for it, and mounted the mirror. I also ran the power wiring for it, just need to hook it up. I will finish that up on Tuesday most likely. I'll be busy helping to clean the house tomorrow.

Stoenr 5/4/08 04:42 PM

Good luck. Good to see you didn't break the windshield!
Heading to the drive in movie theater to see Iron Man, looks like a killer movie.
Good night for a drive in too, weather wise and no mosquitoes yet.
Also Ruins is playing, if I can stay up for it after Iron Man

I think the easiest way to explain is with a picture. I edited the photo with a few arrows to show where to pry with a thin flat blade screwdriver. Do this very carefully though. It may be necessary to pry on the other side of this piece as well.

Thanks Justin. But I have to admit being a little confused still. I have had people tell me there is a spring clip up it the back of the mirror that needs to be compressed than the mirror slides up and off. And than their is post 36 in this thread http://forums.bradbarnett.net/showth...=467316&page=2 which would seem to suggest something similar. In your picture it looks like you are prying a cover of sorts. I have never really taken a good look at the mirror yet. So is there a spring clip up in there? I am still trying to hook up with the UPS guy since he needs a signature. Missed him again today. :banghead:

I would think choice "D" would be a shoe in with you....Mr Carbon Fiber.:jester:

But personally I like choice "A" since they are retro and look like the mirrors on my 70 Mach 1. But what I can tell you is they are alot smaller mirror and are hard to see out of. Remember they are a throw back to the 70's.

Hey all!
Still around, I just was busy for a few weeks & had a week to recover now.

The daughters wedding was great:nice: She had a grin ear-to-ear all day. We had to teach these Ohio folks how to throw a classic western PA wedding;lots to eat & drink & plenty of dancing.

Still waiting for my tax rebate so's I can finally get those prothenes & sequential taillights.
Did pick up a set of new Eibach sway bars for a steal. Installed the rear bar & have to get the front bolted up yet. Noticed an improvement with just the rear on.

Hoping to get to the spring dyno day @ Brenspeed, not definate for me yet.

Scott,
Glad you had a nice vacation, spring is about the best time to visit FL.

Cody,
Congrats on your move-in:nice:

Even though it's not Mustang related, have to throw in a pic of the new bride & my new son-in-law.

70MACH1OWNER 5/5/08 07:18 PM

Hey Larry,
I thought you forgot us.:jester: Glad the wedding went well. :nice: I know it's taken up alot of your time this last month. Let me know when you get the Prothanes and sequentials...we can get together for the install if you want too. Also keep me in the loop about dyno day at Brenspeeds. I will make the trip if others from the Midwest forum are going but so far I don't see much interest this time. That is 7 hrs of driving round trip for us. I don't care about putting my car on the dyno this time but will come for sure for a meet and greet with the Midwest guys. :nice: Who all of you guys might make it this time??? :dunno:

No problem. :nice: I'll be finishing my install tomorrow, just need to wire it up. I picked up an add-a-fuse today from the parts store since I don't like using the little metal ones that jam in there with an existing fuse.

Three women: one engaged, one married, and one a mistress, are
chatting about their relationships and decide to amaze their
men....that night all three will wear a leather bodice S&M style,
stilettos and mask over their eyes
After a few days they meet again.....

The engaged girlfriend said: "The other night, when my boyfriend came
back home, he found me in the leather bodice, 4" stilettos and mask.
He said, "You are the woman of my life, I love you...then we made love
all night long."

The mistress stated: "Oh Yes! The other night we met in his office. I
was wearing the leather bodice, mega stilettos, mas k over my eyes and
a raincoat. When I opened the raincoat, he didn't say a word. We just
had wild sex all night."

The married one then said: "The other night I sent the kids to stay at
my mother's for the night, I got myself ready, leather bodice, super
stilettos and mask over my eyes.
My husband came in from work , grabbed the TV controller and a beer,
and said, "Hey Batman, what's for dinner?"

red454 5/6/08 10:27 AM

Well, I bit the bullet and took the Mustang in for some Warranty work. Mine is up in June. I printed out the TSB's for the dead battery and fuel pump issues. I made it clear to the service manager and tech that I keep the car clean and to be very careful. I suppose I am paranoid from some of the stories I have read on the forums about bad (service) experiences at the dealerships.

I already had the rear seat pulled out for them. They replaced the fuel pumps, and the battery tested bad so I got a new one. (Wasn't expecting that) And they reprogrammed the Air Bag controller per the recall. I was impressed that they did not leave a mark on the car. So I left some positive feedback on the voice mail of the dealership's owner.

You guys seen these two hoods from Cervini's?

https://www.cervinis.com/Files/Image...s/1187_820.jpg

I'll add a couple more funnies to Glenn's -

A man and a woman who had never met before, but were both married to other people, found themselves assigned to the same sleeping room on a
transcontinental train.

Though initially embarrassed and uneasy over sharing a room, they were
both very tired and fell asleep quickly... he in the upper bunk and she in the
lower.

At 1:00 AM, the man leaned over and gently woke the woman saying, "Ma'am, I'm sorry to bother you, but would you be willing to reach into the closet to get me a second blanket? I'm awfully cold."

"I have a better idea," she replied. "Just for tonight, let's pretend
that we're married."

"Wow! That's a great idea!" he exclaimed.

"Good," she replied. "Get your own f___-ing blanket."

After a moment of silence, he farted.
____

And another classic -

A guy walks into a bar with his pet monkey.
He orders a drink and while he's drinking, the monkey
jumps all around the place.

The monkey grabs some olives off the bar and eats them.
Then he grabs some sliced limes and eats them. He then jumps
onto the pool table and grabs one of the billiard balls.

To everyone's amazement, he sticks it in his mouth, and
somehow swallows it whole.

The bartender screams at the guy, 'Did you see what your
monkey just did?'

'No, what?'

'He just ate the cue ball off my pool table... whole!'

'Yeah, that doesn't surprise me,' replied the guy,
'he eats everything in sight. Sorry! I'll pay for the
cue ball and stuff.'

The guy finishes his drink, pays his bill, pays for the
stuff the monkey ate and leaves.

Two weeks later the guy is in the bar again, and has his
monkey with him. He orders a drink and the monkey starts
running around the bar again. While the man is finishing
his drink, the monkey finds a maraschino cherry on the bar.
He grabs it, sticks it up his butt, pulls it out, and eats it.
T h en the monkey finds a peanut, and again sticks it up his butt,
Pulls it out, and eats it.

The bartender is disgusted. 'Did you see what your
monkey did now?'

'No, what?' replied the man.

'Well, he stuck a maraschino cherry and a peanut up his butt,
pulled them out, and ate them!' said the bartender.

'Yeah, that doesn't surprise me,' replied the guy. 'He still
eats everything in sight, but ever since he had to poop that cue ball,
he measures everything first.'

:lol::lol: Funny stuff

Hey Chris,
I am glad to hear your dealer experience went so well. :nice:

I got my mirror done today, very pleased with how easy it was to install and calibrate. I put the temp sensor up near the radiator, clipped to the support. It seems to be reading within a few degrees of what it should, so I'm happy with its location. :nice:

Good for you Justin. I missed the UPS guys for three straight days. Now I can pick up my mirror at the main UPS terminal tomorrow after work. Also Justin did you get the "M" wire harness on your mirror? On the Gentex mirror thread guys are saying that the "M" harness does not have a cover for the wires. Which I thought was the whole point of getting the "M" harness. What does yours look like?:dunno:

frdtch05gt 5/6/08 06:24 PM

Hey Scott, the wires for the temp sensor have the plastic tubing covering most of it, but that's the only cover I see. I was figuring the plastic covers for the windshield side would be there but they aren't. I just looked around and found a full set of wire covers for the windshield and part of another set. If I can find the other pieces I would be happy to send them to you.

Women's Love Poem

Before I lay me down to sleep,
I pray for a man, who's not a creep,
One who's handsome, smart and strong
One who loves to listen long,
One who thinks before he speaks,
One who'll call, not wait for weeks.
I pray he's gainfully employed,
When I spend his cash, won't be annoyed.
Pulls out my chair and opens my door,
Massages my back and begs to do more.
Oh! Send me a man who'll make love to my mind,
Knows what to answer to 'how big is my behind?'
I pray that this man will love me to no end,
And always be my very best friend.

Mens Love Poem

I pray for a deaf-mute nymphomaniac with
huge boobs who owns a bar on a golf course,
and loves to send me fishing and hunting. This
doesn't rhyme and I don't give a ****.

Hey Justin,
I finally got my mirror tonight and have it about 3/4 of the way installed. I am really confused why we spent $10 extra for the "M" wire harness. I also did not get any kind of wire cover with my mirror. I am not sure what is up but it's not really a big deal as I will make something out of black Delrin to hide the wires. :dunno:

It's not a big deal to me either, I found a wire cover I had on hand to use, so I'm happy.
