We had a nasty hail storm yesterday afternoon here. Just about everyone in the subdivision has some sort of hail holes in the siding. Luckily my Mustang and my dad's suv were both in the garage. I had the Escort at work, and my mom wasn't home either, her new Focus is ok too. My dad called the association to report the damage and they are going to come out and inspect the house. The side of my next door neighbor's home looks like swiss cheese, as does the upstairs portion of ours. The hail came down west to east, so any part of the homes around here that face west has damage.

Stoenr 7/3/08 10:09 AM

Wow. Yeah the skies looked nasty so I pulled my car in the shop, and in fact, decided just to leave it there overnight and take my winter beater home that I leave here in the summer. But it did not do anything at all in the South Burbs.

Eleanor Dreaming 7/4/08 01:09 AM

I'm sure if I am in town I will be at the Salleen Show at least to look around. Finished the latest mods this week. Red leather w/ silver welts on the rear interior panels (had an upolstery shop do this). SHR louvers, SHR Shifter bez, Cup holder bez and interior door handles, I'll post pics when I get it cleaned up. Took it in for the warranty work today and it rained. Fuel gauge and ABS/Traction Control Light and air bag recall. Warranty ends on Saturday.

Plus they had these new ones that was like a fireball, then the loudest BOOM yet. I never seen them, and my gf never seen them before. Shes worked pyrotechnics with her uncle that does the shows for towns.

I have done about all of the performance things I can and still stay N/A so I am turning my attention toward some exterior mods. But I am considering mixing components from different themes. I think it will look good together but I guess I want some honest opinions. I have a painted GT500 rear spoiler on the way.

And am considering adding the Roush front facia and chin spoiler also.

So my question is do you think this will look alright? Since I would not be going with the total Roush package or the GT500 theme. I really fell in love with the Roush facia at the Dublin MCA meet. Please be honest. You won't hurt my feelings.
Scott

Cool !

70MACH1OWNER 7/5/08 06:04 AM

The trigger has been pulled on the painted Roush front facia. And chin spoiler. I like the way they look together!

tom281 7/5/08 10:26 AM

You doing the chin spoiler? Unlike the other guys, I like it and think it gives it a meaner look.

Stoenr 7/5/08 12:03 PM

Mornin, well afternoon. I managed to sleep until 12:45, lol. Oh well, gotta get ready for tailgaiting at the White Sox game.

Well against great advise from others...yes I am also doing the chin spoiler. Karen and I went to a Roush Ford dealer on Thursday so I could show her the facia. They had 6 in stock and all of them had the chin spoiler. As you said I also think it gives the front end a meaner or edgier kind of look. So both are on the way.:nice:
Scott

red454 7/5/08 03:59 PM

I think the chin spoiler will look just fine on your new fascia. In fact, I just got the stripes (http://forums.bradbarnett.net/showth...58#post5595158) on my hood and next year's mod will be a CDC chin spoiler. The nose is screaming for one.

Hey Chris,
I got one in white coming off soon!!:nice: I'll never use it again.

red454 7/5/08 04:21 PM

Perfect - if you can hang on to it for a while that would be great - after all the $ I spent on the hood, I doubt that my purchasing department will budget anything until next year...

tom281 7/5/08 04:39 PM

Scott, can't wait to see your car, it will certainly look much different!

As will yours Chris...... the new avatar looks good. Can't wait to see the hood in person.

Hey Red454, do you want a factory-size K&N-style filter for your sweet ram air box? I have one I'm never going to use. I'll be in Indy next week if you'd like it.

Thanks Scott. My wife is even getting into this mod. Hard to believe but after she saw the Roush cars at the dealer she said that was the front end these cars should have come out of the factory with. When are you going to tackle those stripes of yours?:dunno:

My first thought when I read about that car was who would build a drag car and leave the stock 235 tires and wheels on it.:screwy:

Scott, clutch and flywheel for sure- along with an adjustable hydraulic throw-out bearing. Maybe more.... cams? Boost? Change gears??

I understand everything but the gears. Going for a lower ratio than 4:10's or more back to stockish? Which I would understand with the present gas prices!!:nice:

Another beautiful night at Bonnie Doon's cruise in. A Dude came up to talk to me, I knew him to be the ex-owner of Fang Performance. He's telling me all about his new projects with Saleen SuperChargers. He use to preach nothing but Vortex SC'ers but told me his Vortexs cars and a turbo car had blew up and he was staring over with Saleen powered cars.:rofl2:

Here's a list of area car shows and cruise ins for Northern Indiana

Wow...very nice find!!!:nice: I will go out on a limb here. If this car shows up at Barrett/Jackson in January of 2009 and it is the real deal as advertised. I will say 1.5 million. And I think it would be a good investment!! Just my opinion!

Where have you been the last couple of days? :jester: Got the GT500 spoiler tonight. Looks like it is in good shape and the paint seems to match well. After the storms move thru tonight I might go out and get started on the install by at least removing the stocker.

My job sucks right now- big time. Pondering selling the car and some other goodies, and taking up a job at McDonalds or WalMart. Right now, anything with the least amount of responsibility possible sounds good.

subscribing....any links to the event? Maybe Ben and Chris can drive 10 miles to come up and meet us!!:-)

Edit....have made reservations for Friday and Saturday night for Karen and I also. With the AARP discounts and AAA discounts I think $37.50 a night at a Hilton is pretty reasonable. :-)

I seriously hope your kidding on that price...... although I did spring for the "romance package" LOL, our two night total is $475. The package is only like $30 a night extra, woulda still been $400 or so for both nights.

Let's see can I drive 10 miles, probably not, but I might drive 4 miles.

Gee Tom is a real romantic, honey I want to take you to Indy for our anniversary. Oh, by the way, there is a big car show and Brent and the guys will be there.

I'm sure I will be overthere at some point, but I doubt if I will be showing, unless alot of our club shows then I might just to boost our attendance. I'm gonna speak to Brent again about his schedule and see if he will be around on Sunday and see if he might like to give a presentation at our meeting on Sunday. I spoke with him back February, he said to get back with him closer to the show.

Looks great Nick - love the Blue... Hope to see it in person tomorrow.

As for the meet in Greenwood on August 2nd - darn - I have a cousin's wedding that afternoon. Too bad since Greenwood is only about 25 minutes away.

Anyone going to be in Indy the Friday evening before the meet on Saturday the 2nd? There is a nice cruise-in at 10th and Mitthoeffer (on the east side of Indy). Usually about 100 or so cars if it is dry. It would be nice if any of you can make it. Anyone interested, let me know and I can give you directions.

Ok - it would be nice if you can make it. (Tom too :jester:)

Stopped over at the Cougar car show this afternoon. Met Nick (ovn3) - he has a nice 06 Vista GT.

Glenn - I have seen the whale tails made from plywood. Gotta love that. Hey, maybe we can make a fart can from plywood?

Well I am having fun tonight. On the good side I got the GT500 rear spoiler installed and I am very happy with it. :nice: For a $120 bucks painted and shipped you can't beat it. On the down side at 5:30 this morning on my way to work I got into tar from a paving project I have to drive thru. I got tarred on the freshly paved road.:( WTF!!! Looks great on a white car/ So I just gave the drivers side of the car a bath in mineral sprits. :banghead: I got it off but I am sure at the cost of my wax. Bastards!!!:screwy:
