Well, I have a little dilemma here, my wheels came yesterday, but they are black, not gunmetal gray like I ordered. Also 1 wheel didn't make it for some reason, another has been shipped and will be here Wednesday. Should I keep the black wheels and put them on, or call CTR and have them swap for the gray ones. I don't know what color the additional wheel they shipped is, will have to see when it gets here. I do like the look of the black ones I received, so I am thinking of keeping them.

If the 4th wheel comes in gray, I will decide then what to do. If it comes in black, I'll keep the black set for sure. I do plan to tint the back 3 windows within about a month or so.

I think black rims would go great on your car. I'd keep them too. But use this opportunity to get them at a reduced price. It will cost them a bunch to ship you a gray set and pay to ship those black ones back. Use it you your advantage Justin.

Not a bad idea if you are truly happy with the color.

You can drive out to my house and pop one of mine on your car if you want to see how the gunmetal looks. They are currently loose in the garage, and the cars on 3 floor jacks and 2 jack stands, lol.
I was installing rotors, cleaning calipers, and planned on painting them but ran out of time and temperature. Will paint them tomorrow once it hits 60 degrees.

and of course, unfinished pics.

I'm thinking I want the black ones anyway, wasn't sure at first. It'll look freaking awesome. I'm usually driving the Escort to work and back anyway so the Mustang won't be driven as many miles this summer as last year (14k last year from March to October). The darker rims will hide the brake dust too.

Thanks. It has been my daily driver since 10/05. With 2 1/2 winters. I would clean it from the underside at work on a lift with the wheels off twice a year. It needs to be done again in fact.

240 miles and 19 mpg average later, and I'm back from Osceola Dragway!

The Brenspeed crew was there and Darrell came out as promised..... it was great to see everyone again! Made three passes...... first was a horrible 12.5.

BUT, then the 2nd and 3rd passes...... :

11.854 and 11.861! :metal::metal:Finally smashed out of the 12s and into the 11s with the help from my new M&H racemasters! I'm stoked! It is now officially beer :30 for me here at the house! :nice:

Well I'm exhausted from my 30 minute drive home from OC Drags. Now be nice and remember that this is my very 1st time racing at a Drag strip. First of all wihen I got there I needed to turn around and go to the Wally World down the street to buy some long pants as I was wearing Shorts. Found Tommie and the Brenspeed crew. Watched for a little bit and learned how to do the staging and burn outs. First run I was up against a Automatic Mustang...Reaction time .3669 60ft.....2.36 ET  was 14.80 at 99.97mph Spinning tires all the way down the strip and letting off to early and loss.
Second run was agaist a white vette Reaction .3488 60ft. 2.30 ET13.51 at 107.94:grin:
plus he fouled but I still beat him down the strip.
Third and final run was agaist a new BMW M3(??) reaction .225 60ft. 2.33 ET 13.73 at 106.90 and I beat him by .1742.
Not great times or speed but for the 1st time I'm happy, no damage to the car. Brent offer to let me run some Drag Radials but I didn't take him up on the offer.
Tommie was flying and I could :banghead: For forgetting my Camera's and not getting any pictures or video.
All in all it was a great day:metal:

Hey Darrell,
I can make you feel better. My first time at the strip and first run down the strip was March 27th 1997. I owned a 96 Cobra with a Kennebell supercharger on it running 10 lbs of boost. Short story...I blew it up. So I would say you are light years ahead of me!!!!! :metal: Sounds like you had fun at least!!!:nice:

Scott, my MPH was 119. What I did different this time was actually not much different than before, except before I could not get traction. This time, light turns green- rev and dump the clutch and hold on.... shift fast because 2nd gear comes quick LOL. On the 11's the front-end feels like it's coming off the ground. :metal:

Hello all!
Darrell,
How did the Bridal Shower go? Got one here next Sat. myself.I'll be glad when the wedding is done, waaay too much work.

O.K., besides all the work around the house I did get 2 things done to the Stang. Installed the delete plates & fixed my water leak.
Delete plate install was easy, no issues. I did notice a SLIGHT loss in low-end torque, very minor though. No real difference otherwise. We'll see the next dyno how much I actually picked up
Water leak; I'd read about the issue with some 05-07's. Once last year, I noticed a musty smell when I got in the car. No damp carpet, I've been checking every rain, no problems. I guess we had a heavy day of rain when I was in Dallas. When I got home, I found 1/4" of water on my pass side floor. Pulled the carpet & pad, dried everything off. Time to deal with this. Local dealer only has the 'water leak' guy in every other Tues for 2hrs. Poohey on that:bad:
There is a large harness that enters the cabin behind the pass. side
inner fender splash shield. The feed-through grommet is where most folks are having the issue with. Pulled my inner fender & found mine not fully seated, the way the harness pulls on it, it'd be hard to get it in correctly. Mine had a nice gap @ the bottom. I sealed all around the grommet with an aviation sealer we use, but silicone or similar would work as well. I've attached photos of the culprit.Just above that area is where all the water funnels down from off the windshield, wiper area. Easy fix, took me about an hour total. The inner fenderwell is only held in place with plastic push-pins.

Scott,
I'm kinda getting used to the exhaust. Has a nice snarl to it. **** loud when you open it up:jester:
I'm going to stick with mine the way it is for now. Have to get those mounts next & then some sequentials.

Congrats on you breaking into the 11's Tom:nice:

Thats about my longest post ever, probably be a week or 2 for my next:rofl2:

STD,
I'll gladly pull your drivers side down @ the next Stangstock:poke:

Actually, it's real easy, hardest part is jacking it up & taking the wheel off.
Guess we're getting to the age where we'll have to start carrying 'Depends' :rofl2:

Scott,
Kudos to Ron, how about kudos to Robert!:poke:We've been saying all along that there is no need to adjust pinion angle with an aluminum driveshaft on a lowered Mustang and nobody believed us. Now the superhero does a 180 on this issue and you believe him. Must be the superhero name.:dunno:If i start going by "supershaft" or "Shaftman" and declare that I am a new superhero in the galaxie who is able to leap tall buildings with a single bound would that help.:poke:Just call me Rodney Dangerfield. I was thinking that "Shaftmaster" would be the coolest superhero name of all......

By the way, the 3.5" held up great at the track yesterday. :nice:

Glad to hear that and congratulations on your times at the track. If we went with Shaftmasters as our superhero name then what would you suggest as being our superhero power?:lol:My wife would probably say "the quickest shaft in the midwest" but I wouldn't care for that one!

:lol:He may have provided you some knowledge :poke: but all he really did was reinforce what myself and a certain other person had been trying to tell you for about 50 posts and that is you have to practically drop the frigging Stang in the dirt before there is any significant pinion angle change.... When you get that shrine built in the honor of Ron will you take a pic of it and post it for me !....:poke::jester:

If you and the certain other person you speak of were that convinced you were always right why did you buy that UCA to fix a non existant problem? :poke::jester:

Its called insurance !... I'm sure my currant marriage will last too! but I still had her sign a prenuptial agreement ...:nice: Also Scott as I have stated before there are more benefits to installing the J&M adj UCA besides pinion angle adjustment, the way the booty on the stang responds now is noticeably better.....Oprah is going to be real jealous!...:rofl2:

Are those high flow cats or resonators? Reason I ask is if they are cats they should be between the 02 sensors. Right?

It was just a picture of Jack Lemmon and Walter Matthau from the movie Grumpy Old Men. The picture was there after I posted it. What's up with that? You were Walter by the way.:rofl2:

I'm supposed to be going to Byron Dragway on Saturday, but the weather might have other plans. Car is going to the dealer tomorrow morning for the fuel pump to be changed. I have to put the stock intake and tune back on it this afternoon, then re-install at the track on Saturday if I go.
