And then said Camaro gets a CAI and cam swap. I know people don't realize that you can't compare a stock car to modded, but stock for stock the Mustang should be able to beat the Camaro in a straight line. It already outhandles and matches the braking of the Camaro with the Track Pack, so I think we'll be good. I'm not concerned with having the fastest car out there. It's impossible. I want a nice street legal 400-ish Hp Mustang with 6spd from the factory. I was too young to get a Cobra new. Now that day is here with the GT. And I'm going to finally pull the trigger!

Well then why would they take down the torque numbers and not everything else? Maybe the numbers are wrong????

I still see both numbers up on autoblog....
Dear Ford,
Please relax your grip on the subject "news". The diehards were in the loop already, if only based on rumours lead by CEO Alan himself. From a historical point of view, it sucks to lose the 2010 sales race to the opposition after winning it for so many years in a row. However, we (Ford and it's supporters) will just have to let that go as the facts haven't changed and that is what matters. Fact 1: You build/t the better all around pony car in 2010. Fact 2: There was a lot of pent up demand for the Camaro after being off the market for 7 years. Fact 3: The introduction of the new powertrains didn't coincide with the body re-design because they just weren't ready. As opposed to rushing to market with band-aid solutions (see: weights on brakes) you chose the right path.
I find it hard to believe that anybody who is horsepower hungry bought a 2010 MGT and is regretting it. Anybody that fanatical did the research and held off. That being said, 2010 MGT owners haven't "lost" anything. 315 hp/325 ft-lb is more than 80% of the people -on the road, with a license- can safely drive. Kudos to those that recognize their limits. Seriously...a lot of us here are hardcore enthusiasts with track experience, we can handle more...but a majority of "drivers" have no business being behind the wheel of a 05-09 MGT, much less adding 33% more hp.
In conclusion, Ford, I would like to say thank you for continuing to rock my world with your world class, kick *** automobiles.

I doesn't sound like the leak came from within Ford. I take it that it came a member of the media who had been present during Ford's pre-NAIAS conference.
Bingo. I would have rather had the info and pics all at once, but there's nothing we can do about it now.
Don't know... Sounds all a bit too 'easy' for me. What if this leak is fake?
A ploy by Ford. Leaking disinformation...?
What if, they are holding back the real news for their offical release?
...425 hp / 400 lb-ft
