The 5.0 badges should be cool to see again.

I like the new 5.0 badges. YMMV, I guess.

I hope the listed curb weight is an estimate...

I wonder what the GT/CS wheels look like...

I am going to be optimistic and say that the weight listed is inclusive of all fluids and a driver (as I understood curb weight to sometime indicate), not the weight of just the car. If so, that's a heck of a weight gain with an all-aluminum block engine. Maybe all the extra valvetrain hardware added up to some extra pounds, but I would not think THAT much.

I guess we will find out...

I thought the new motor was only 10 pounds heavier than the old one...

According to cars.com, the '11 GT is getting a 1-4 skip shift similar to what the Challenger and Camaro have.

I hope it's not a pester...

The weights are bunk. We'll have to wait until the final numbers to come out to know for sure. But the weight is going up for the GT.

The new engine ie 430 lbs - 10 lbs heavier that the 4.6
The new transmissions weigh - ?? lbs more
There is new sound deadening material on the firewall, inside the rear wheel wells, etc - ?? lbs more
There is new structural foam in the A pillars
Convertibles get numerous new braces
There is a new aerodynamic tray under the car

etc. etc.

This is why I am optimistically saying I would not expect that quoted figure of 3875 for the manual to be just the car. It possibly could also be an error. I think someone else pointed out that the rotor measurements were not correct in some of the articles or press releases.

My assumption was that this car would come in around 3600-3650 (max) for a weight with fluids and a full tank of fuel and no driver.

As long as it still enjoys an advantage over the Camaro in terms of curb weight, I think I can live.

IIRC this is the first confirmation that the 5.0 is in fact 302 CI (not 301 or 303) and that 91 octane fuel is recommended.

Quite possibly the transmissions account for the biggest chuck of any weight gain - good point.

The spec sheet someone posted mentions the following -

302 cu. in./4,951 cc
91 octane (unleaded 87 octane minimum)

I was right about the subtle changes, the rear fascia has 'slats' in between the tips, the 2010 does not.

I'm shaving those fender badges ASAP. Still want to see more info on the 2011 GT/CS

From what I recall reading here - GT/CS + Track Pack is a no go.
