Well, you know what they say, "loose lips sink ships". Or in this case, spill the beans about eagerly anticipated engines.

Methinks somebody is going to get chewed out tomorrow at Ford HQ (or whereever the engineers work).

Its only 1 number. Now all I want to know is what the torque number is and the RPM. While 412 sounds great I am still going to wait for the official Ford release...

I am not so sure that I believe that number, anyone else notice thats it the exact same HP/L as the 3.7L??? Its not the same engine, and I would not expect it to be exactly the same. Smells fishy to me...

Guess you'll have to wait on that.

But that seems right...(give or take 10-15hp) given what this board has been talking about for ages now.
But yea, I'd rather see/read it from the source (Ford) to be 100%

I knew that this thing couldn't be kept as a secret forever, someone had to leaked some info at some point, how can you hold so many people, companys, contractors who are directly involved in building and making parts for this 5.O motor, from talking about it to a friend, a relative or someone else they know, who will in return say it to someone else. The chain reaction . And i'm impressed at how FomoCo kept it so low profile for so long. I will guess TQ to be at around 430. Just my .02 cents. That would actually match my '69 351W motor in both HP and TQ. All they have to do now is make it available in Acapulco blue.
