Passed with flying colors today! Made downshifting a snap!

just called to get an update and the tooling is done now and prototypes are being made up for shipment tomorrow. if everything looks good we should have pieces next week.

ALSO NOTE!!!!!!!!!!!

i have had one occurrnece where a shifter customer actually bent the linkage arm on the bottom of the shifter. he has stated that he only had the linkage screwed out 8 turns and slammed a gear hard in a race and bent it.

i do not feel this is an common issue but am concerned and would like to just give you guys some warning or headsup to make sure you do not have the shifter linkage adjusted out too far if power shifting. i am going to lengthen the center shaft and probably back down the max turns to 10 just to be safe. but i put a pry bar on one here assembled and it was VERY sturdy. i do not know how he bent it

WOW !! thats a bit harsh as i do not know the details and i am sure it was not the fault of the owner. it may have just been a bad piece of stainless that had a weak spot in it. he was very understanding of the issue and i am sorry it happened. it will just make me make the shifter that much beefier by knowing that this could have even happened at all.

That's why I put the there George... It is paraphrasing a line that people who program a lot use... "I made it idiot proof... And then they build a better idiot!"
or as we used to say in the Navy... "There is no such thing as sailor proof!"

George , recently my shift **** was turning and it's after market so I thought the set screws had loosened up. However when I took the **** off , I discovered that it was the handle turning. I guess the set screws on the clamp had loosened and the rubber isolator was turning inside the metal sleeve that is around it. The sleeve has a slot in it , I guess so it will close around the isolator , and I put this towards the front and not the back where the opening in the clamp is. I then torqued it down really good and it no longer turns , but when the car heats up I get a squeaking sound when I shift. Do you think this has something to do with the isolator or could it be the springs inside the shifter need more grease ? Thanks ...

the squeaking sound is the bushings that we are redoing. they are just too tight of tolerance and when they get hot expand and squeak and bind a little. if you have the stock bushings put them in for now. the new ones should be in soon.
