George,
Didn't get your email until about 6 PM Friday night. I'll call you Monday. Kit is on the way to Tom.

Jim, do you have a paypal account? If not, I can send you some cash thru the mail. George, if you want to reimburse Jim then I guess you can, but like I said I don't have a problem paying for the shipping.

George,
What can I say that has not already been said?? Your company rocks, your customer service is second to none, and your products set the benchmark.....

I installed my upgrade kit yesterday. I had left the original bushings that came with the shifter in, knowing these were on the way. Guess I did not realize there was as much of a difference to look forward to...OMG!! I went from 8 turns down to 7, just to try it out. Unbelieveable...The shift is butter smooth, but still has the razor sharp precision as usual. Since everything else was pretty much left alone, the bushings are the only thing I can attribute the difference to.....Feels like having a whole new shifter again!! Let's just say I gave the shift light a good workout following install....

Thanks again George, Great job as usual....

Mike

George,
I too wanted to weigh in and say thanks for the updated shifter parts. I never expected to get anything and infact wasnt looking for anything till I noticed a package my wife picked up that was left by the front door the other day.

I haven't installed the parts yet, but I too can say that I have never, ever seen customer service like this and am sold on any products you might make for the next 20 years in advance.

Thanks for proving that there are still people and companies out there who not only stand behind their product, but aren't afraid to fix an unexpected shortcoming without waiting for people to ***** about it before doing anything.

Thanks again.

Hi George,

I just wanted to thank you for the update kit you sent last week. I installed it over the weekend and am very happy with the results. I am running a full 10 turns out and just love the short, precise and super smooth shifting.

For anyone who has been on the fence about this shifter, stop wasting time by looking elsewhere. This shifter is the best you can buy for your Mustang. Period.

George, once again you have shown the world how an American company leads the way in offering world class products and the best customer service of any company I have ever delt with.

Congratulations George, and thank you.

Mark

George,

I am the proud owner of the first MGW shifter installed by Evolution Performance in Aston, PA. Everybody wanted to try it out and was raving about it. All hail George.

Only nit pick anyone had to say about it is where the shift handle bracket installs, you can't really get in there with any locktite. It was the opinion of the installer that it would eventually work its ways loose.

The real proof in the pudding is to look at the two units side by side. The stock shifter looks like a tinker toy next to the MGW one.

I have struggled to get used to it, though. Several times thinking that 3rd was first!

as long as you got tight on that handle you need not worry about it coming loose. it actually has 3 different locking features!!!

1. the screws themselves have locking nylon patches in the threads.

2. there are lock washers under the bolt heads on all four bolts.

3. the natural spring of the metal in the design puts constant tension on the threads keeping it tight.

George,

I installed the new bracket and bushings last weekend. After a few test runs, I finally found the "sweet spot". Would you recommend adding a bit of blue loctite on the bolt that goes through that new bracket?

Regards,
Jon

I wasn't talking about the shifter handle Stoenr, but rather the bracket under the car.

it would not hurt if you feel that you will be keeping that setting at least for a while.

i will say that you need to get snug on that washer/nut but not too tight. after taking mine off and on oh say 300 times!!! i stripped the threads on the tranny arm and had to buy a new one

i was getting WWAAAYY too tight on it though now that i look back.

I got and installed this shifter today and must say it is very nice. Coming from the saleen adapter it is like night and day. Shifting from 2nd to 3rd is effortless and accurate. It takes more effort to get it in first because of the left/right tension but feels so much more solid overall. I was surprised though that once in 1st gear the shift lever moves back towards the middle about 1 inch like its not locked in 1st. Is it suppose to be like that? That makes it much easier to miss 2nd gear if you dont push left while pulling down towards 2nd. I had a tri ax on my 99 cobra and you couldn't move the shift lever at all once it was in gear and 2nd was straight down. Overall huge improvement over stock!

that is actually not due to the shifter but more due to the linkage design of the transmission. the bar that attaches to the shifter has lateral play in it and when you are in gear the arm can still move a bit left to right. i assume this is to reduce vibration from the tranny to the shifter in the oem application.

the spring to the center is a great asset for the 2-3 shift and also keeps you from slamming 2nd when going for 4th but yes it does require a bit more concentration and effort to make sure you pull down and left when shifting into second. it will become second nature to you in no time though. the stock shifter had NO spring tension at all so that is why it never pops back to center or has any resistence at all.

george
