I installed my shifter today!!

George, you make a fine product! I set my shifter to 8 turns out with the lowest shift handle setting using the stock bushings and all I can say is that it ROCKS!!!

Thanks to Taco Bill for your excellent writeup and "additional assistance" as well! I could NOT have done this without you.

G/F says to tell you all that this is a VERY EASY mod and she enjoyed cutting the Dynamat and passing me tools. Of course, she wasn't laying under the car, but I'm not gonna complain at this point. Total install time was about 2.5 hours.

The difference between the stock shifter and the MGW is night and day!! Throws are now short and precise, with that "snick" sound going in to gear. The hardest part to get used to is the absence of the "shifter slop" in neutral.

All in all a great product and an excellent mod.

i know it has been a long wait but there is a good reason. well actually 3!!!

1. the bushings took longer to mold than i thought and the company that makes them just shipped them last week. they arrived tuesday of this week. we had no control over this and believe me i was just as anxious to get them as you.

2. i was also waiting on another NEW piece!! i have designed an additional piece for the shifter. it is a rubber plate that you install UNDER the sound plate. it provides additional sound insulation but also protects against any serious water splashing up from the under side of the car if driving in heavy rain or thru a standing puddle. this will be a free upgrade to all shifter cusotmers.

3. lastly is a major one. i have had 2 people now that have bent the linkage bracket on their shifters so i just could not let that go. i have reduced the inner bore diameter on the threaded portion and bought custom made springs for them. i have also calculated that the linkage only has to be screwed out 10 turns MAX for the 50 percent reduction in throw and 12 turns is really too much. so the new linkages will be labeled accordingly. the new linakges are also beefed up in certain areas as well. i had to run 180 NEW linkage brackets for EVERYBODY that bought a shifter so far and am sending them with the new bushings and the new rubber sound plate.

i needed to get ALL 3 things ready before i sent them out because the shipping alone is going to cost over 700 dollars just for shipping. in the end though i feel much better about just making the shifters right rather than sending out new brackets IF they break.

so everyone is to expect a package with all the upgrades within the next week. they will be shipping today.

regards
george

Do owners of the origional piece need to install the new linkage brackets? Are we ok as long as we dont go over 10 turns?

i had tested the shifter for a LONG time with alot of power shifting and never had a problem but to be honest i have always been set at about 8 turns.

i do not think this is going to be a problem for most but to have the linakge break out on the road and not have your car driveable is just not acceptable to me so i am doing what needs to be done.

in fact you may opt to keep it as a backup or extra and always in the car but i would personally just go ahead and change it out since it has the new bushings in it anyway.

George,
With word on your fantastic shifter (AND your great customer service) spreading, I hardly think you'll be homeless anytime soon. Hey, Donald Trump and Bill Gates hit a bump or two. We're all pulling for you.

George,

Your customer service is simply fantastic. I will be buying and recommending more MGW products in the future. A friend of mine ran through my shifter yesterday, he liked it, so you may have another MGW customer soon.

Darn it George! Had I known you were shipping this I would have odered something and you could have saved yourself the shipping charge. It is not like I really need this part.

Oh well... I even could have waited until the new shift ***** were out. The sifter is doing great and it really makes my Bama Chips tune that much more fun. Have a good one and thanks!

I was wondering why I got a DHL tracking number from MGW. Now I know. That's some amazing customer service, and I'm really glad I bought the MGW sifter for my car. I'm definitely recommending it to anyone that'll listen.
