Contact George, he will fix you up, no problem...

As always Bobby you give great advice and superb write ups. I have the MGW teamed with the "Black" 5sp engraved Hurst shift **** and I love it as it fits my interior color motif as well as my Alloy color. White is classic but black is right for me lol

I'm liking it more and more George. I like the look that the lower part has, nice and thick. I hope you find room to place the MGW logo on it. Is the black material the same stuff as the Gripper ****?

John spot on, I was thinking the same thing, placing MGW logo in the black part of the **** would give it a nice finish and let everyone know "yes we have an MGW shifter installed"

Or maybe engrave it into the shaft part (vertically) yes that may be even better then the black rubber area.

Oh and John let me know the next time you out the Houston (Magnolia) way.

Actually... that post was... My Bad... the handle with the OEM thread does not have the boot adapter or a place machined into the handle for it because the OEM **** already has it. Once again I ASSumed something and I was wrong..

George was very nice in his correcting reply... he didn't even bust my chops for the error.

I have drawn up a sketch for a flat handle with the MGW logo on the side that I am going to send George. I checked into how much a one-of-a-kind would cost me without the MGW log... $150 from 6061 aluminum and $60 if I would have 25 made.

Don't think I want one made of aluminum but I haven't received a quote for SS yet. The handle will be the same height as the round one with just about half inch less up & down adjustability so that the flat part of the handle will be taller.

Anyway, George can probably use the same piece of billet material to make the handle without to much extra cost. We'll have to see what he thinks.

Before you know it, it will feel natural shifting, I could never imagine being on a stock shifter again!

I've had mine about a month now, followed Bill's instructions from another site. Very happy with the product, excellent choice.

I just installed one on the wife's car two weeks ago, it's fantastic. We have it set to ten spins down and the shortest handle possible with an MGW gripper ****.

One experience that I have had which I am not 100% comfortable with has happened sometimes on a downshift from fourth to third. If you leave your hand on the shifter, you can sometimes feel some vibration in the shifter ****. Not consistently. I have tried to isolate the conditions which cause it. Probably an installation issue of some sort.

Installed mine yesterday. Wow what a difference it makes! It's another one of those installs you do and say afterwards... "Why'd I wait so long to do this?" It's great to get throw each shift so quickly. 2nd to 3rd is amazing now!

Great product!

what you are feeling is perfectly normal in that the shifter is now directly connected to the tranny better than it was with the stocker. you are going to feel more vibration/feedback/bounce from the tranny becuase it actually is bouncing all over the place under your car

you need to try to keep your hande off the **** also because my shifter actually is designed to absorb and dissipate the vibration of the tranny by the rubber core of the center shaft. it is one of the patented features of all our shifters. if you hold it with your hand you basically negate this feature and the shifter may rattle or chatter. it also is not good for the tranny to rest your hand on the **** while driving.

george

But George I like the feel of power thru the MGW

That will be a hard habit to break (lifting hand off shifter while driving)

My dad, an auto mechanic for +25 years, always said... "If you want to rest your hand on the shifter.... GO BUY AN AUTOMATIC!"

I like those ramps!

Tips I want to add.

- Cleaned all areas of the transmission tunnel where Dynamat was to be installed with alcohol. Careful the underside of the tunnel has some very sharp burrs.

- I drove the back of the car up on ramps and jacked the front of the car up; this gave me plenty of room to work.

- A pair of Mechanix or similar gloves.

I have a few pictures below, the first is the completed shifter the other two are with the car up.
Did you get them at Autozone? Who makes them?
