I seriously doubt they could give you any cr@p for painting your covers. They can't even tell they're not the ones that came with the car. Why swap them out again?

My only concern is that maybe I did it when changing out the covers. My car ran just fine before I messed with it.

If they know I changed out the covers, they probably won't fix it under warranty.....

I'll check out all the connections tomorrow morning and call my local Ford dealer if I can't fix it.

Sorry to hear your car isn't running right. What's the ubdate after checking all the connections?

I'd check over all the connections. Loose ignition wires? Crossed ignition wire?

P0012 is Cam position timing, overtarded, bank 1
P2196 is 02 Sensor signal stuck rich, bank 1, sensor 1
P2198 is 02 Sensor signal stuck rich, bank 2, sensor 1

Sounds like at least one of your spark plugs isn't firing (running rich, so not firing and burning the fuel), or not firing when it's supposed to. I'd check all the ignition wires, and make sure all the coil caps are firmly down on the spark plugs.

Here's the whole setup installed.

Looks 500 times better. The covers and C&L don't match with the Sonic Blue 100%, but they look great. I've actually just sold my MidwestAutoGear cover and will be getting the 07 OEM cover. I had to do it after seeing it in person last week. You guys are really going to like the Ford version......
Man...those look great!!! Where did you get that done? LOL!! Just kidding...but it does look excellent!! I'm glad you like them!

Any updates on why the car isn't running right?

I don't see why they wouldn't fix it for you under warantee, even if it was something you did. I had problems with my Toyota S-Runner after doing an intake and throttle body spacer install, then took it in to the shop because it wasn't running right any more. The tech called me into the shop, showed me the vacuum hose I had missed, and we talked about the intake and stuff I had done for a while. And I walked out of there for free, because they put it all on the warantee. But each dealer is different, depends on the service manager.

Good luck. That looks really sweet. I might just have to get me some of that color.

My car is at the dealer today. Just got back from the post office. Cam covers are on their way Priority Mail..

It looks like I managed to melt my passengers side catalytic converter due to mis-fire. The exhaust is blocked up. The passengers side exhaust manifold isn't even getting hot......so there isn't much firing....

We'll have tol see what the dealer comes up with tomorrow, hopefully.....

Hey Red...Hopefully the car will be back to you and running ASAP! I know car troubles suck! Check out these pics and maybe you'll feel better.
This happened on 12/30 while I was on the way back from FedEx. Seems like this guy in a lifted Dodge truck thought he could cross ALL 3 lanes of traffic before I got to him...................................He was wrong!!

oh. I have. I'm going to get a bio mechanical skeleton when $$ becomes available. Then hopefully he can design a bio mechanical horse skull for the plenum cover.

I love his work.

Glad to hear that everyone's ok from the accident Kevin. If you need an X plan for a new Ford let me know.

BTW, I got a call from the dealer today. The first diagnosis showed that the cam position sensor was fried. They will replace it tomorrow and we'll see if anything else was damaged.
