I also think that the red + flake would really look good. But if you are looking for a change for show points you might want to consider matching the SC. What about Mirror Black for the covers? OR...if you really like the flake additive why not go with te mirror black with flake? OR....if you really like the red with flake.......is the black part of the SC just a cover? Can it be removed? LOL....yeah I just made it all the more difficult to choose..sorry..LOL!

Jeff, looks like you CAN powder coat over powder coat. If I had the Saleen S/C, I would go black and black ceramic coated headers. Otherwise, I'd go with Anodized Red w/metal flake (a VERY close second), or if I didn't have the S/C.

I've switched completely over to using mirror black when I get a request for black. Unless of course the customer doesn't want a real deep shine/reflection....then I have several other levels of gloss to choose from.
Here is an example of the mirror black! Nice huh?!

I thought that you all might find it interesting. I heard that you can buy aftermarket powder coated cam covers from Ford Performance Parts. They are only available in "chrome-like" finish, wrinkle black, silver, and blue.

They are $270.00 + a core charge (not sure exactly, but at least $100.00) and then add shipping of around $25.00.

I think what we have going is a pretty good deal at about one third of that cost.

Just making sure I understand this correctly...When you get to a name they pay and then you paint the ones that the last person sent back? I don't have to send mine and leave my car coverless till they come back, do I?

Donna, I'd just get them coated bright silver to match your plenum cover.

 

That's the way I understand it.
Brad bought a set or two to start with.
So, for example, if mrvandermey were next he'd send his money. His would get painted and shipped to him. He'd remove his stock and swap them with the painted ones. Pack them up and ship them. When Brad receives the unpainted ones and lets the next person on the list know they are next.
Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

I got the painted ones in the mail on a Friday and swapped them out on Saturday and had mine in the mail on Monday. No downtime except of the hour during the swap. heck of a deal...
