Since powdercoating is a plastic type polymer is there any problems with the engine temp melting it?
I don't know how hot it actually gets in the engine compartment but mine are doing fine after 3 months. The car is driven daily and has done 3 multi-hundred mile trips in that period. I don't think heat will be an issue.

The powder he uses is good up to 350-400 degrees F, depending on the color. I guess if my cam covers get hotter than that, I've got bigger issues.

But durability with heat is not a problem with the covers, and if you're coating headers, he's got higher temp stuff.

The covers went out on Wednesday, and I picked up my Reflective Chrome coated Jet TBS. The last set of covers was the best so far. That Super Mirror Red is really amazing, a beautiful color, and turned out really well. So look out for them Scramblr, and get yours back to us as soon as you can.

The List:
1. Hatchman - "Reflective Chrome" looks like "Satin Aluminum"
2. ChrisM - "Refl. Chrome/Satin Alum", Installed! Nice pics and feedback
3. Redfire05GT- "Refl. Chrome/SA", quick turn around, thanks!
4. Jewls05GT - "Anodized Red & metal flake/Redfire"
5. Hawgman - "Refl. Chrome/SA"
6. MTAS - "Refl. Chrome/SA"
7. Duckman- "Super Mirror Red"
8. scramblr - "SMR", Status: Shipped out 11/23
9. Red Ryder - "Candy Blue" (55 for the C&L)
10. Sandyman - "Gold w/metallic flake"
11. 05SatinGT - "Refl. Chrome"
12. nbk13nw- "SMR"
13. Cleveland -"Black Wrinkle"
14. Mustangjack - "Black or BlueWrinkle"?
15. Eleanor Dreaming- "SMR" - Sending his in
16. Hags1 - "SMR" - His own covers in the mail to me
17. 6505pony - "Redifre/Anod Red & flake" + TBS
18. zonasvt - "Wrinkle Blue"
19. S197 GT- "Red", waiting a few weeks
20. MilStang - maybe later?
21. Stanman - "SMR", wating till Spring
22. ZeroK - maybe later

No sweat Brad. As soon as they come in I'm taking the next day off work to swap them out and put mine in the mail back to you. Should be a one day turn around. Thanks for everything you're doing for us with this. Much appreciated!!!!!

Hi, all!

Even though I was first on the list, I'm continuing to follow this thread and it looks like hatchman's idea has been quite successful. I've mentioned it to a few people at shows who've expressed interest in my covers. Incidentally, I finally got my JLT CAI functioning so now all the key pieces in my engine compartment match - see below.

Chris, please don't take offense with this as it is just MO. Your engine compartment looks so good that it DESERVES a Hireman pony. There is NO comparison. eace:

You're right. Hireman all the way on that plenum cover.

Here are some pics of the Reflective Chrome coated Jet TBS installed. No gains on the dyno, but I can definitely feel and hear quicker throttle response.

The Reflective Chrome helps the TBS to blend in with the rest of the aluminum stuff I have and the covers. Hope you like.

HUMMM says these WHEELS weigh 45lbs each. Can't imagine the covers weigh that much.

 I'm confused. The covers and The Box weigh just under 14 lbs.

Looks very nice Brad.....I especially like the replacement caps.....

Just when I thought I was done with the engine bay.....

Did you get some type of covers for the strut towers also?
They look shiney.

Yes, they are the UPR strut tower set in satin aluminum, that I then polished with some Blue Magic metal polish.

O.K., got them in today. I'll swap them out tomorrow and have them in the mail first thing on Monday.

I do have a question. Is there a specific torque to put the bolts back in at? Also, is there a specific order for the bolts to go back. I would think we want the covers evenly tightned which will prevent leaking issues later. Appreciate any inputs.

The bolt will bottom out basically. You snug it down and it will let you know when you're done
