650,
How were you able to mount the strut tower brace over the plenum cover? Without rubbing?

I appreciate you giving us a quick turn around. The extra time and shipping to and from Hireman's and prepping and redoing your covers from the clear paint they had them has already cost us about a month on The List. It'll be good to get things going again.

The List:

12. Cleveland -"Flat Black" Status: Painted, still heading to Dan
14. 6505pony - "Redifre/Anod Red & flake" + TBS Status: TBS is here!
15. nbk13nw- "SMR"
16. zonasvt - "Wrinkle Blue"
17. S197 GT- "Red", waiting a few weeks
18. derynf - "Super Mirror Black"
19. 05 CapePony -"Black"
21. Stanman - "SMR", wating till Spring
22. ZeroK - maybe later
23. Krazed - Windveil Blue complement
24. mrvandermey - "Super Mirror Red/Torch Red"
25. Donna - Silver? Reflective Chrome?
26. backnblack - " Super Mirror Black"
27. SoFL05GT - "Super Mirror Black"
28. rtleslie - "Candy Blue"
29. nvader - "Super Mirror Black"
30. Red Fever - Sending in own covers?
31. Vegasjay- "Wrinkle Blue"
32. TinPony2- "Reflective Chrome"

I haven't done it yet. I'm putting them all on at the same time. There have been a couple of prople that were able to put on the brace with the cover. Here is a link to one on page 7 and there is another one on here recently in another thread.

http://forums.bradbarnett.net/index.php?sh...ic=23565&st=120

The only thing I read someone had to do was put a couple flat washers under the brace to raise it a little if need be.

The only thing on mine is a little sticky I'll hit with goo gone before I send them in. They are exactly the way they came from the factory otherwise.

Here's my cover under a single chrome bar. It clears the cover by the thickenesses of 2 paper towels! I shimmed the bar with 1/8" washers to insure clearance. They haven't collided yet - about 3 months and 1500 miles on the car.

ChrisM: Is that pony on your plenum cover made of plastic, I have a similar (or maybe same) one
and I am concerned about the engine heat melting it... any problems?

The Pony is an aftermarket (I assume plastic) piece for 99-04 Mustangs. It came with adhesive backing so I just lined it up and stuck it on! It's been on the car for about 10 months with absolutely no problems, no melting or discoloring. My car is driven daily locally and it's been on at least 4 road trips in that time frame.

Just to keep you guys waiting on LL updated....I went by the Ford dealer yesterday and the touch-up paint still had not come in. I was told to check back in again on Tuesday. Sure was hoping to get it by now!

If ANYONE that thinks their dealer might have it in stock, could you please check for me? I could just buy it from them and have it sent to me. Just a thought.

Thanks,
Kevin

I bought touch-up paint from AutoZone in a little nailpolish type bottle for like $5. Either that or try express paint, I got an aerosol for about $30. But at that rate you could almost just paint the covers.

Good the forums are back. I sent the stock covers back yesterday (Monday). The local shipping place didn't do FedEx Ground so I sent them UPS. Hopefully the box will not get too destroyed. They look real good. I will take pictures later this week because I'm still working on the car for other things.

Wow, it looks like we lost about a month's worth of post on here.

I'm working my way down the list, trying to contact people, sent derynf a PM. I'll keep everyone at the top of the list until I can get in contact with them. With the site down all the time, I don't want to push somebody to the bottom if they are still interesting. Thanks for your understanding.
