Yes, that's exactly right about the temps! I don't powder coat any exhaust pieces. I do offer ceramic coating however. The colors available for this are Black Satin, Aluminum, Cast Iron, and Titanium. The ceramic coatings are tested stable above 1300*F for the colors and above 2000*F for the Black Satin.

can you do a super mirror black on the K&N intake tube? It's a rough plastic.

No, I wish that I could. Plastic CAN be coated but it takes special powders and equipment that is way too costly for me to have.

Thanks,
Kevin

$120.00 for shorties +shipping
$150.00 long tube +shipping

Here is an interesting graph about the black satin.

Tracking numbers have been PM'd.

Just to let everybody know, Kevin put in a LOT of extra hours polishing down the C&L intake tube. It just didn't look right with that rough finish, and the Candy Blue would have come out looking like a speckled egg. But all his polishing paid off because Red Ryder's turned out GREAT! But he won't be able to do another C&L for the same price. I also didn't realize the C&L pipe came in two pieces, and Kevin did the MAF portion basically for free. Also, just to let you guys know, Kevin usually charges more for these Candy colors as well, since they require a base coat and a clear coat, where some of the other colors are one shot. But he's giving the TMS guys a fixed price for all colors, with metal flake 20 extra.

So THANKS KEVIN for giving us such a cool service and such a great price. I know everyone on here appreciates it! We have enough folks interested to keep you busy into next year!

MERRY CHRISTMAS

I had my K&N intake painted satin silver by my local Ford dealer. If I were to do it again I would sand it smooth before painting. It would need to be sanded as smooth as the K&N logo area. Also I had to put a sticker on that area because it looked wierd being smooth and the rest rough.

Will he do the C&L intakes at all anymore, and if so for how much more?

That one in candy blue is extremely nice.

He will do the C&L intakes, but the price is $100 due to all the extra prep time.

Hey guys....sorry about the increase in the price for the C&L. With the rough cast finish it just doesn't look good. It took an hour of extra prep time to get it just right.

Thanks,
Kevin

Here's the whole setup installed.

Looks 500 times better. The covers and C&L don't match with the Sonic Blue 100%, but they look great. I've actually just sold my MidwestAutoGear cover and will be getting the 07 OEM cover. I had to do it after seeing it in person last week. You guys are really going to like the Ford version......

By the way....as a tip for anyone changing out your covers.....remove the battery and tray. The passengers side will be a breeze. Actually the drivers side will be much easier if you detach the oil check tube, but i didn't try.

Well I'm going to have to delay the CamCover group buy. I have to re-install my factory covers and take my car to the dealer. It's not running well. Probably stalled on me 10 times, and is vibrating the motor to no end.......I've got P0012 and P2196 codes in the computer along with the check engine light......
