Today in OKC driving north on I-35, I saw a string of high performance cars headed north…all had sponsor placards and racing numbers. Mustangs (Roush, Mach I, GT350), Camaro ZL-1, Porsche 911 Turbo S, and many others. I also loved the vanity plates on the American muscle. Th eones I remember were:

Roush = SNOB4LL (white car, great example of the 13-14 MY
MACH I = PPLETR
GT350 = 52VUDU
Zl-1 = EV LOL

I think she ditched it Lee. She wasn't very happy with it.

That is one nice looking Bronco. Sounds like the Wildtrack is the beast model. Sure you will have lots of fun with that. Congrats on the new rig!

I couldn’t wait to get rid of it with all of the problems I had. These were my two biggest complaints. The leak and rust. But I was also on my 3rd radio, both rear axle seals leaked, rear defroster had to be reconnected, at 20k miles, it was making a terrible grinding noise which turned out to be the metal plates on the back of the brake pads that rusted out. I put plastic hinge covers to hide the rust. It still looked good though, lol. 7 1/2 years, 56k miles and Carvana gave me almost $26k whereas the dealer was closer to $22k. I only paid $34k for it, so at least I got a good return on my money! And I only bought the Jeep to begin with because I got tired of waiting for Ford to finally start producing the Bronco after talking about it for so many years.

Wow! That sucks Jill! I missed all of that. I'd have been pissed, at least you got some mileage and years out of it without losing your behind.

I’m not sure I listed all of the issues I was having on here. Everyone says “it’s a Jeep, they all leak”. That was a flood. We eventually got it under control, but still not completely. Never had a problem with my last one back in the day. And this new one was hard top. My brother has had several and they never leaked or had these issues.

Was a nice chunk in addition to my cash I’d been setting aside for the Bronco. I paid cash for most of it and just took a really small loan to have some revolving credit since we are bill free. Vehicles are just too dang expensive anymore!

Yes they are. 15 years ago I never would have believed you if you told me I'd be writing a check for a new Mustang for as much as I did recently.

And like you, I'm debt free as well. But in my state, not sure about others, I actually get penalized for NOT being in debt on my car insurance. It literally says on my statement that my rates are HIGHER because I don't have a mortgage or car payments or credit card debt.

WTF? I thought insurance rates were about having a good driving record, doing the right thing etc, you know, being responsible.

Apparently not. Someone that pays off all their debt, stays out of debt for 20+ years and keeps their finances in order seems to be the most responsible person you could ask for in today's world. But a dude down the road with 2 mortgages and 4 car payments and a boat payment and a camper payment and is barely treading water to juggle it gets cheaper insurance than me.

Once again, WTF!?!?!?

I’ve never heard that with insurance before. That’s ridiculous!

I hate the fact that the best rate I could get is 4.54 right now through Navy Federal CU. And I’m an over 800 credit score. SMH….

What is even more messed up is this new federal rule regarding mortgages where people with a higher credit score have to pay more for mortgages? BS! You can’t even touch a decent house in this area for less than $400k

Same here Jill. Pisses me off that IF I did want a mortgage, I'd have to pay MORE for making a large down payment, or because I've had a 800+ credit score for long as I can remember. Absolutely BS.

Even had something happen that never has when I got the Shelby. They called, it's here on the truck. I take off, expecting to just write a check like I always have.

Nope wouldn't take it. Had to drive to the next town with a branch and get a certified check from the bank. You couldn't just call the bank and ask if the money was there? BS.

I hear you Lee per my credit reports my credit is better than 99% of people and I couldn't get a loan because I didn't own anything!

Messed up world we're living in. You grow up like we did being taught that if you do the right thing, be responsible, be fiscally responsible, save, invest, etc that you'll be better off in the future.

We do all that, and now we're penalized and shamed and demanded to pay more than the ones that did the exact opposite to help them out.

Eff that. I'm building a bunker .

If I can get a loan.
