I don't know which one was in it, it was the one Shelby put in it during the conversion. I loved the throw and how it shifted, but at 2-4 k rpm it would rattle in second especially from new, especially when cold out. Drove me crazy, I can't stand a rattle or vibration in a car.
My new one has a vibration buzz/rattle somewhere in the rear seat area when exhaust is in track mode, but only around 1500 rpm, like resonance from the exhaust, sounds like 2 pieces of plastic grinding together. Something in the interior. Haven't been able to look for it yet, only got a 150 miles on it and it's cold out.
I think they all do, but could be mistaken.. Perhaps someone who has the Hurst competition plus short throw can chime in? I have the standard Hurst short throw which definitely does rattle and like yourself, it drives me friggin nuts... Other than for the rattling, I do like how the response from the Hurst provides... Think I'll consider contacting them to find out the reason and if they have a possible fix for it

I think there was several threads on here back then with some fixes and such, but I got rid of it for the 11 500 and never messed with it since it was a fair weather toy, everyday driver would have made me crazy. Probably would have been in the 08 - 10 time period. Try searching Hurst shifter rattle on here maybe.

I'm sure there were several threads as well, I just don't remember exactly which ones, so I'll do a thread search when I get the chance... If there isn't a permanent fix? then I'll more than likely consider upgrading to MGW

Merry Christmas also! Haven't noticed any e-mail spams on my end, but then again today isn't quite over just yet

Might be something in here. I just skimmed it a little.
Merry Christmas everyone.
Thanks for locating one of the Hurst shifter threads.. I found it very helpful about packing the spherical bearing with grease in helping resolve the rattling issues which would appear to make sense IMO...
When I ordered this car I went ahead and got the color match cover. The last 2 had it in the trunk with it in a box.
This one didn't. Got it almost 3 months ago and the cover just now came in to the parts department at the dealership.
Check the Box & See if There is a Shipping Date or a Tracking Number you can Cross Reference on it. I would Bet it's Been There awhile. One Way to See if Legit or Covering up Mistake! They Usually Beat the Car to the Dealership. If it was FIA the Vin Number Should Be on Box as Well!
I discovered soon after starting at The Last Dealer I worked for That They Had a Ton of Never Delivered Accessories that Customers Got Charged for on the Window Sticker. Usually FIA Stuff as in FACTORY INVOICED ACCESSORIES. Floor Mats, Roof Racks, Car Covers and Other Items Listed as Such on Window Sticker. When Getting a New Car Always Check to be Sure you Got Those Items. Especially an Issue When Car was Dealer Traded. They always Forgot to Send That Stuff with Car or Truck!
I did my Best to Stop that Issue but was not a Manager Anymore and My Supervisor was a Toad!

I'll look at that Kevin, but as long as I got it I'm good. I honestly think it just came in. It's a tiny rural dealership and I've been in constant contact with the salesman and the guy that put the order in, not sure what his title is, because I ordered the car almost a year before it came in, had actually about given up on ever getting it.
Been talking to him every couple weeks about it and he would check parts department and not there, finally called the other day and said it came in.

I am Getting Cynical These Days Go Figure. Glad you Have a Dealer you Have Faith in! The Info may Help Some Others Not Get Short Changed on their Purchase. Nice to Hear Your Faith. I had a Car on Order I Gave up on, a 2002 Mercury Marauder. Jumped on the 02 F-150 Harley Supercharged when One Hit the Dealership. Of Course Marauder Then Showed Up. I Had to Drive it for To See if I Made the Right Choice. I Believe I Did.
I had Rode in a Marauder Prototype with More Power and Killer Sound System in Canada During Training Dealer Trip but Production Car Was Not That Car! I was Told Some Tester's Got In Some Speed Issues with the Local Law Enforcement. Ah Those Were Just My Best Days in The Ford Game. 99-09
