Bullitt coming in '08!!
I am disappointed in Ford's decison to do a Bullitt again. But I cannot say that I am entirely surprised. In the era of "let's re- do everything" (see most motion pictures lately) why should anyone be new and creative.
Attention Team Mustang and Ford: Next time you decide to make a "limited edition" or "one time" special make sure it stays that way.
Thank You.

Loyalty should be viewed from both sides.

If you want to own a Mustang special edition that Ford is sure to never bring back, go buy a Cobra II (Mustang II type that is). Otherwise go buy a Ferrari F1, if you really need to own a car that none of your neighbors will never have.
Bullitt wish list:
325+ HP
6 speed with white shift ball
Bigger front brakes
No rear spoiler
Horizontal Billet grille bars finshed in dark charcoal or black with chrome surround
Soft rounded front bumper (like base Mustang, but with fog lights) - needs to be subtle and cool, not flashy.
NO side scoops
Louvered quarter window inserts
Hood with scalloped air extractors (like 68 or the concept)
Leather Charcoal interior with silver-gray inserts and satin IUP
Premium interior trim
18" Charcoal Bullitt wheels with mirror finished lip
Need to dress up rear tail lights and center panel
and of course DHG or 69 Black Jade or Ivy Green Metalic

I see Bullitt interceptor's side of the argument,
The original Bullitt was promised to be a one-in-a-kind, never seen again model. Then they spring one back just 7 model years later. The problem is the demand was so great for another one, they decided to build it and risk alienating previous bullitt owners.
I would love to see the reaction of as many current and former owners of 2001 Bullitts, just out of curiousity.

I had a Bullitt for just under 2 years, from mid-2004 until last Spring. I was the second owner, I really do not care if Ford repeats the Bulllitt, maybe because I was not the original owner who was promised by Ford that it would be the only one. Would I buy the new one? Maybe, but only time will tell what form it takes and what it costs. I am very happy with my new '07 GT/CS vert so it might take something very good to move me out of that.
Similar to the Bullitt, the SN-95 Mach 1 was a promised 1-year car (6500 only). The worst thing about that changing was seeing the discount dollars ($3K-$4k) from Ford to move the cars later when the production number was increased.
For me, it would be less about exclusivity and more about paying too much in the first place.
Some Bullitt owners who post on IMBOC are sad, and some are happy.
By the way, I consider Mustang owners who have "rare" cars are those who with one of the Cobra R models from '93 (107), '95 (250), and '00 (300).

Neither was my status elevated because I had one but I can assure everyone that my taste buds were fully satisfied during the four years I had it. I was under no illusion when I bought it, I knew exactly what to expect. Would I have liked for it to have 32v? Absolutely. Was it better than the '04 Cobra? Absolutely not, unless the color is the deciding factor.
I am a believer that the new generation is better suited for the Bullitt edition, just as the Mach 1 and the Boss would be. The current body style and the probable performance upgrades will make it even more enjoyable than the previous SE generations.
The Bullitt name is not that important, the upgrades and the color are. Anyone can day dream but nobody becomes a Steve McQueen because of an emblem. Those who still have the Bullitts should be happy and enjoy the fact that they are special cars. If they don't want anyone else to enjoy such a car then they should buy them all and become Bullitt cocoons.

I have a bunch of car rag articles that I clipped when the Bullitt came out. Nowhere do I see any such promise that there will never be another Bullitt. When the Bullit did not come back in 2002 I think a lot of Bullitt fans just assumed there would never be another Bullitt w/o any factual info.
