Bullitt coming in '08!!
Sometimes information is in front of our eyes and it is over looked. Here is a hint. Click on http://www.ponysite.de/bullitt.htm look under "Latest News!" the heading reads:
BULLITT 2008 CONCEPT CAR (MRT BUILD)
What I find peculiar is that this was posted a couple of months ago and the pic is a copy of MRT's Interceptor minus the oversized hood scoop. I believe MRT participates in the annual SEMA show in Las Vegas which is coming up next month.
It should be interesting. If they are involved I sure hope they understand the Bullitt's theme.

Ford announced it, I would think they would produce it even though it is possible to assign development to a company such as MRT. After all, Scott Hoag has the experience to oversee such a project.

It's begining to looks like it is MRT's project, doesn't it?
Tuners' versions are usually not as popular or in high demand as Ford's SEs. Perhaps this is why Ford would release the information so early. At this time it seems to be a similar arrangement as with Shelby Autos and the Mustang GT / Shelby GT conversion.
On the positive side, Shelby Autos has done a great job with the Shelby GT. Hopefully MRT can do the same.

I don't think MRT could produce enough cars to keep with the demand. I wouldn't doubt that Scott is involved somehow though. I am leaning toward Roush building the show car. They built the 01 show car. They would have the ability to produce cars quickly like Shelby.

The 2008 Bullitt will most likely be assembled on the same production line that builts regular Mustangs & the GT-500.
It is possible that MRT will design some of the parts for the Bullitt, but most likely any special Bullitt parts will be built by various subcontractors with eveything being slapped together @ AAI.
So I forgot to exit onto CA 1 South off of the golden gate bridge and ended up winding my way up and down the hills of downtown san fran yesterday just like in the movie...doesn't that qualify my car as an honorary bullitt?? Come on, I have the 05 bullitt wheels and all!

That is what the publisher of that site thinks a Bullitt might look like. He used an MRT Interceptor photo as the basis.
Found these renditions over on www.thechromepony.com

to Saleen grilles mucking up his car.
So are you thinking the 5.4L that's in the Shelby? If so, that means an iron block, and I think the Bullitt application would be better served with a massaged version of the Terminator engine, which would give the car better front-to-rear handling dynamics.
But either one will be better than the FRPP kit and some cosmetic bolt-ons, which is what the "Bullitt" San Fran feature article from that previous Motor Trend issue postulated, and what I'm personally nervous Ford will end up doing.
That would make me AND Steve
As to the grille, didn't one of the salespeople on here indicate that it looks as though the '08s will get a somewhat revised front fascia due to the incorporation of an HID option?

I would love to see a GT without fog lights in the grille option for 2008. Something like this photoshop.

No, you misunderstood pal. I'd HATE for Ford to build an S197 Eleanor. As much as I love the original, I cant stand all the clones driving around.
I want bieng sarcastic when I said god forbid them to build it, I was bieng completly serious.
