Would that be about those experts who said the Bullitt would never happen, those who hoped one would never be built, those in denial (past & present), or those sore losers that now that the Bullitt is a reality are hoping for a GT/CS type of SE?
NP George. Thanks for the suggestion.

For those who have not read this I found the following quote from the Ponysite:
"... According to recent bits of information the BULLITT SEMA Concept car will feature still a 4.6 with a new head and intake combo. Roush has been developping this and other packages since November 2005 as we hear...
We are dead sure that this BULLITT Theme car will appear as one of 15 specials at the SEMA show..."

So it may well be more than a CAI and a 20 horse increase then, if it truly gets all new heads (and as speculated, maybe the heads from the GT supercar). Could be good for 350 - 375 horse, perhaps?

Nice scoop, George!
Looks like the Bullitt will indeed offer more performance than a Shelby GT after all.

Robert Lane over at Stangs Unleashed was quoted as saying: We have not received any word on actual H.P. ratings for the Bullitt, but the engine does have a top end that is different than a Mustang GTs. The 2008 Bullitt's intake, heads and valve (coil) covers are different.
Wasn't the '01 Bullitt primarly just modified over the GT with an adjusted intake? Heads and valve covers ought to give the '08 Bullitt somewhere around 350+ horses, which, with some straightforward mods could be boosted to 375.

The '01 Bullitt was offered in True Blue and Black so there is the possibility of another color being available this time as well.
Here's the link to that article about the new engine, if anyone hasn't yet seen it.

I know this guy personally and I deem this information to be reliable:
NEWS! NEWS! NEWS!
"I know a person who works for Ford and I just realized that this person has major responsibility for new product release and works primarily at the Flat Rock (Mustang) plant in Michigan. I was told that, unless the current plan changes, the 2008 Bullitt will come out with the first 2008 cars which means September or October of 2007, one year from now. Orders for the new Bullitt should be able to be taken starting in about April. This person has no knowledge of a 1900 car limit on the new Bullitt and does not think that any Mustang could be built with such a number limitation.
No major body changes are likely to take place until the 2010 model year, even though the 2009 target has been discussed".

I am wondering if this time around serial numbers will be used?
That would add to the exclusivity factor and salt to the wounds of the present Bullitt owners who are reluctant to welcome the new version.
