never recommended to mix, but whatever.
Valvoline/Zerex G05 is what you should have put in, or Stuff straight from Ford.

Boils down to a dye is what makes the color.
Its rediculous, toyota red, chrysler orange, green, and w/e Ford calls theirs.
We dont have enough room in our stock room to stock all the freakin different kinds of antifreeze thats out now.

Nothing wrong with good old green I tell ya. but should be 100% 1 or the other. And distilled wated a must when mixing

I don't want to infringe on what you guys have going here, but I may have someone who can do these for us.

I'm going to talk to him about it, and make sure he is well aware of how much business he can get from it.

I should know more about pricing by Monday.

By the way, you won't have to go through anyone else.

You'll be dealing directly with him.

Its easy, not to worry. As far as the oil, maybe let it sit for a bit before you pull them off. Mine say for a little while before I took them off and had no oil drippage.

And I forgot to put anything over the cams when I took them off, and the car sat for a week like that, oops! I took them off, dropped them off and took off to Florida for a week while the car was in the garage with hood closed, no problems. I had called my dad when I got to Florida after thinking about it and was going to have him go there and cover them, but he said it will be fine in a closed garage with no one going in and out for a week.

Finally got mine done locally. Pretty good job and pretty good match to Redfire I think.

Your Cam Covers, TB and STB look really sharp! ..and a perfect color match! Wish I could find somebody locally to do mine. If I might ask, how much did they charge you?

Yes, everything. My car has been immobilized since removing them on Aug 24th. Dropped them off on Aug 25th before vacation. I went to pick them up on Sept 5th and found fisheyes, runs, uneven coloring and ended up leaving them there. Apparently he had to re-do them twice according to the metal cleaner guy that I picked them up from up Monday. 2 businesses under same roof...metal cleaning and powder coating. I think he undercharged me. The metal cleaning workorder had $150 scribbled on it and the printed powder coat invoice only mentioned the powder coating details and also said $150. The metal cleaning guy only asked for $150 so I gave him the cash, took the invoice and the parts and left. Whether it was a mistake or not, after 4 weeks of no wheels I wasn't about to complain...

Yeah, thats kind of rediculous. Same thing happened with me. Dropped them off when I went on vacation. Return and still not ready, 3 days later I got them and they had some pitting. Not bad, but noticable, but still waaaaaay better than the stock look. Ended up paying nothing.

I love this thread. There are so many amazing works of art out there, but I have a question for you powder coaters and skilled removal artists.

How do you get the rubber/plastic grommets out of the valve covers before power coating?

Don’t they have to be removed before you powder coat?

Never mind - I guess I was the last to know - again
I just used a large socket and a rubber mallet from behind and they pop right out

Can you tell me what color red that is? It is really close to redfire, and would like to get my covers done the same.

If you need more info let me know and I'll try to accomodate...
