Like I said in post #2, I'm ready for a piece of this action. I have an MG car too and I love the "Satin Aluminum" - it will be a good match for my plenum cover. Thanks for your efforts and let me know when we can get into it!

Now if we could come up with a solution to those crappy looking headers!

 

I know what you mean, the stock headers are the ugliest thing under the hood now. If we get some more people interested, I'll buy a set of cam covers to act as a core.

Otherwise, it'll take several days of "down time" for shipping and doing the process.

Looking to get some more exposure than the Modifications/Other Mods section, so I wanted to post a link here.

We are looking to see if enough people are interested in getting your cam covers powder coated. Thinking about buying a set of cam covers to act as a core, so they can be changed out in a few hours, instead of waiting several days for shipping and process time.

Yep - I'm in for sure. Add me to the list and I will PayPal the money asap if that's the route he's going. Does he have anything closer to a chrome or nice polished look? If not, then the Satin Aluminum will be fine as well. Thanks!

 

The reflective chrome was what I was wanting as well, but they came out with more of a satin finish, which, like you said, is fine. I've seen other covers that he has done for an Evo, that came out just like polished chrome. But the Mustang covers are pretty coarse to start with, which I think has an effect.

Still, I'm very pleased with the results.

 

Those look great! Really dresses up the interior of the engine bay. I will have to remember this for later.

Looks like we have four solid interests right now. I'll go ahead and order a set of covers, and get this started.

I think the fairest way to do the order is by the order that everyone posted to this thread first, so ChrisM will get the first set. I also sent Hawgman a PM to see if he is still interested, and so forth.

I'm guess a few days shipping , so I'll let you all know when the core set comes in, and I'll get them to the pc place the same day.

Maybe you should start a "Vote / Poll" to help keep count of the total for jobs and colors.

 

Not a bad idea, I might start another thread later. So far, only one job completed though. But since the order of jobs depends on what order everyone posts on this thread, I don't want to get people posting on several different threads and confusing things.

Good news, I've got a set of cam covers ordered! As soon as they get here, I'll take them to the PC's place and get them done for Chris. It could be a week, so until then, stay tuned.

And, if anyone can find a set of cam covers used, let me know, I may buy them as well to help speed things up.

Those look awesome. If I got mine done I'd want something close to the sonic blue of the car, however, sorry to say I have to pass. Since installing the shaker it covers most of the covers anyway. If I do anything I'll be taking them off just to paint them myself. If I didn't have the shaker I'd definately go in with you on this deal.

 

No problem, thanks for the reply. And I understand about wanting the paint to match. Can't guarantee any color's will match, since even changes from metal to metal seem to affect the color. And like you said, the Shaker covers most of them anyway. Car looks great, BTW, one of the best looking Stangs on here.

Here is a close up of the valve cover he did in gold. Note that this cover has a slight "wrinkled" surface, which has an effect on how refective the coating is. But this will give you a ball park/digitized and resized over again/monitor dependent idea of what "Gold" looks like.
