Well there is only so much SE love that can go around (as well as standard models), maybe after the Boss Mustang, but I really doubt it would be do-able as a concurrent SE. although an SVO Mustang could certainly fill the Bullitt's shoes - dump the Bullitt for the next generation and slot the SVO in. Although methinks it would be a pricier compared to the Bullitt since your talking a limited run on a particular type of engine, but not by much since I hear the F-150 EBV6 is back on with its nort-south installation.

I could handle it as is if these two options were also available:
Cooled seats.... I hate back sweat in the summer with the windows down.
A sunglasses compartment

heheh, just another opinion, but I gotta agree...I'm not enamored with the 10+ exterior, really hate the rear, but to me that interior is modern/beautiful AND a little 'retro'(hate that term) all at the same time. I give ford a 'A+' on the interior styling

I'd imagine that this would probably echo the other comments in the previous 8 pages, but:
- More power (always want more!
)
- Less weight (3300-3400 lbs would be a considerable improvement)
- Slightly smaller overall package
- Continue brake system improvements (Brembos on all 4 corners?)
- Sport seating package (Recaros or similar)
- Standard HIDs
- IRS
- Color match the lower panels....
- Factory options for oil cooler, diff cooler, brake ducts
- Retro headliner
- Factory spec racer package/series ala FR500S

Maybe something a little bit smaller like a New Edge size ... Since the Camaro is downsizing and everything, Ford needs to be able to stay competitive

in the three photos above, try listing specific likes/dislikes...this is just on the rearend- I'll try to find some similar side/fronts to ask likes/dislikes too- might be interesting in noting why specific styling lines are a plus/minus to mustang fans...
69 likes:
the 'flat' look, the recessed center, the integrated 'spoiler' kickup, the three vertical lights
69 dislikes:
single reflector behind lamps meant non sequential
05 likes:
the recessed center, the still somewhat flat look, the three vertical lenses/reflectors made sequentials easy upgrade.
05 dislikes:
the white backups shoulda been separate, the bumpers kinda big/sticking out a little, the curved rear end and rear glass made a traditional wing/slats too much of a stretch to look proper
10 likes:
standard sequentials
10 dislikes:
bumper sticks WAY too far out, non traditional taillamps look like different model than a mustang, sloping center makes bumper appear to stick out even farther than it does, chamferred corners make it look like different model than a mustang, the large black (diffuser?) seems to have no purpose other than making the bumper stick out EVEN further- and again looks like something other than a mustang, the 4 backups are just too unconventional for me, would 6 or 8 be even better?

The '05 is basically a nice clean and well proportioned design -- I think the GT500 iteration was the best S197 rear end.
The '10 redesign is a lumpy, bumpy, lard-assed and overdesigned mess, just way too much going on. A case point in the difference between good design and a lot of design -- kind of the anti-'69 in a sense. The rear end looks bloated, saggy, lumpy and heavy.

![Agree](https://themustangsource.com/forums/images/smilies/agree.gif)
The main thing that I want from the next gen is for it to be smaller. '65-'66 sized at the most in length, width, and height. Carry over engines and transmissions would be just fine. Even a carryover suspension would be fine. Heck a 7/8ths scale S197 would be fine.

The fear is that the last time they tried to make a smaller Mustang they created the Mustang II

![Dunno](https://themustangsource.com/forums/images/smilies/dunno.gif)
So we can never have a 65-66 sized Mustang again (which is also about the size of the Fox-based Mustang) because it might remind some people of the Mustang II?
![Dunno](https://themustangsource.com/forums/images/smilies/dunno.gif)
Okay then, the next Mustang should be a coupe on a stretched and widened Taurus platform with a top that's 6 inches high so it'll beat the Camaro for the worst outward visibility award . Oh and make sure it weighs 4500lbs. There! That won't remind anyone of a Mustang II!

it could always stay the same size, I think mine feels just right. i guess if they could make a smaller vehicle with the same size interior, better weight distribution, and the same size trunk i would be for it.

'69 easily! The '69-'70 Fastbacks were about the best looking Stangs, ever, in my estimation, being clean, well proportioned, graceful yet muscular -- a testament to great basic design of well balanced form, line and mass. The well shouldered rear end looks both powerful yet pert and light.

Nope, not getting into it again. I will be lambasted for beating a dead horse.
69-70 - classic looks
05-09 - a modern classic - understated and fits well with the overall form of the Mustang
10-11 - FUGLY!
Ooops! I did it again.
