Post your stripes
Thought I'd put this in the right thread.
I'll take better pics when the car is done. Took these with my cell phone. Car still needs clearcoat and buffing. Color is Dark Charcoal, same as painted wheels. Stripes are 11 inches wide with a 1.5 inch gap.

Dang. That black on Sonic Blue looks great. I really like the side stripes too!

Robyn, that should look sweet when it is done

Thanks Adrenalin, It's a little darker that I thought it would be but I like it!!
When I pulled in and saw it out front I was like
Can't wait to see it with the bumpers on and all buffed out. Even with it not wet sanded yet I could barley feel a line. That paint is real thin.
Looks like my Windveil Blue GT is not to be. However, I am getting a Yellow GT Convertible instead! Our local dealer is getting one of the display GT's from the Country USA concert in Oshkosh, and the baby will be mine!
So now, what color options do I have for a Yellow Vert? Obviously black, but that is fairly common and besides, my wife is covinced it makes the car look like a bumblebee.
I was considering white stripes, but I haven't seen any year in this combo except for a 99, which is a paler shade of yellow.
Also, looking at 67-68 Shelby pics, you don't see too many vert's with Shelby LeMans Stripes. What we need is an update to the stripe selector for Convertibles.

Dave...
Here is my Legend Lime GT with silver stripes.
They are 3M 7125 series vinyl Satin Aluminum #120. I bought a 20" x 10yd roll for about $50.00, split what I needed down the middle to create 2-10" stripes an applied them myself a little more than 1" apart. They were applied wet. They go from tip to tip and they are NOT tapered. I removed the spoiler, 3rd brake light, upper and lower grills, and the windshield washers to apply the stripes. The hood, roof, and trunklid were easy. The lower portion of the front and rear bumper covers were very difficult, I almost gave up at one point. I didn't even attempt to do the license plate recess, but because there is not a lot of contrast between the car and the stripes, it's hardly noticeable.
I am VERY pleased with how they turned out and it sounds like I save a BUNCH of money by doing them myself.

I'm having trouble finding anyone in Indy that will go bumper to bumper. They all want to stripe like the dealer installed stripes. May have to save my $ for paint.

Save your money... go with painted stripes!!!

Yeah, I have seen that picture. It helps some, but the gap is still too wide and the stripes themselves aren't wide enough.

I would have gone with black (or charcoal) on the LL. The silver is way too subtle IMO.
My car is in the same stage as yours right now, Robyn... bumpers are off. It should be getting painted tomorrow. And yeah, the edge is really thin, but I worked out a deal with my painter and he is going to clear the whole panel for an extra hundred bucks. I couldn't complain with that.

Thanks! That picture helps a bunch. I might go a tad bit wider (10.5") on my stripes, but what you have looks kick hiney, especially the phtoshop of the black. Is there any way you do the picture of the rear of your car too? I'd really appreciate it.
