Awsome job doing it yourself. Not something I would have been able to do.

I think it looks good. I debated about the GT 300/35/500 stripes as well. It's your car, do what you want with it. Have you considered a CDC classic front spoiler?

Well, I've decided to get some stripes. Going to get Gloss Black, 10.5" wide, 1.5" gap, local shop gave a $475 estimate, and can do it this week. Seems a little high, but they do good work. Will post pics after.

Thanks for this thread Jason, it really helped me decide the right widths.

I can rationalize -

I plan on supercharging it and this way I won't have to change the stripe...

I kicked around GT 350 for a while. The 500 just seemed to stick with me. I know I will catch some poo for it. Oh well.

Regardless, right or wrong - this is ultimately the look I am going for...

Can't wait to see the pics, Brad. Are you getting any rocker stripes done?

Even though I started this thread to help decide what I wanted, I still haven't gotten any.
I've gotten cold feet.

Good choice on the measurements, BTW.

Brad,
For a few dollars more you should consider paint by a custom shop. I paid $750 and I got a high gloss, clear coated custom striped GT. The vinyl that I have seen doesn't come close to my paint job. The vinyl's that I've seen has swirls, highs and lows and doesn't have the same amount of gloss the factory paint does. I think vinyl looks good for a short amount of time and then leaves a lot to desire.

You paid a lot of money for your car and you may want to spend a little more money for your stripes.

BTW, the stripe sales job is, it lasts longer, stays glossy, etc... You may want to ask an experienced custom body guy that is honest about paint and vinyl. Judge by your eyes.

Good luck
imho

The whole car looks great, and I usually don't like the rocker panel stripes!

I installed them myself over two days this week. Took my time and did the best that I could. Must say, they came out better then I thought they would. BSM sells the kit for $140 +S&H, so not a bad deal. They use the good (and forgiving) 3M vinyl, not the cheap stuff. I was able to remove and redo some of the stripes as many times as it took to get it done right, real nice stuff.

As for the side stripes, I am still thinking about it. The more I look at the side, the more I think that it needs it.

Any suggestions?

The side stripes are what I'm trying to figure out right now.
Like what to get, where to get them, etc.
