Get back to topic, those cars have nothing to do with stripes. This thread is about posting your stripe pics.

 

Bob, why are they not removing even the easiest parts (spoiler, third brake light). That is just begging for problems with the paint later down the road. They won't even be able to paint under the spoiler properly.

 

i dont have a mustang yet, but i have a white pontiac grand am GT. I did red accents all around the car, Emblems, racing strips, badges, and tail lights. I wouldnt mind posting if anyone is interested, just to get the look of red on white.

 

I told him to mask the back GT emblem and he took that to mean mask everything. :scratch:

I did tell him to take off the spoiler and when I arrived to take some pictures I saw it wasnt removed. I asked what was up with that and he said he took out the bolts but that it was held down with 2 sided tape.

He said he did not want to pry it up as he may damage it or the paint around it. Sounded lame to me. He masked off the bottom of the spoiler. He said if I didnt like it he would try and get it up and paint the bottom of it. So three sides of the spoiler will be painted. The top and both front and back ends.
I will wait and see how it looks. I have several friends in a local car club who have used this guy and swear he is the best. There is a real good chance that I wont like it not painted on the bottom side of the spoiler. The trunk lid under it will be painted though.
It was suppossed to be done today but there was some dust and fisheyes in the top that has to be fixed then buffed out.

So far I am not real excited with his work but I havent seen the finished product. He told me over the phone that the side stripes turned out perfect. Since it is Easter weekend he will finish it up on Monday and have it for me on Tuesday.

Did yours have double sided tape between the spoiler and deck lid?
He did take out the water spray nozzels on the hood at least.

I have a wait and see attitude right now.

 

He was there at 8am and I got halfway there before traffic came to a complete stop. A cement truck decided to roll over on the highway and spill its contents everywhere. After an hour I exited and went back home. I called and that was when he said he needed to fix it a bit more. He said maybe I could bring it back for him to complete.
I told him that I wanted to pick it up when it was finished and he said it will be finished totally on Tuesday. I doubt that as I dont think I will be happy with the underside of the spoiler not being painted. He said only a midget will know.
We'll see....

Hey Stangnut thanks for all the research. I have Torch red GT looking to paint white stripes, but I have also thought of painting gold stripes. I have never seen one with gold stripes but I saw a 68 Shelby red with gold stripes that I thoguth looked awsome. I think it would look so good with my med parchment interior, like the HErtz black with gold stripes.

Here is mine. Now just waiting on the wheels to get here. Stripes are 11 tapering to 13", 2" gap, 3".

 

Its painted.
10-3/4" with a 1" gap.
Sides are 4" with a 1/4 pin.

 

I put the Magnaflow Catback Pacs on and OMG they are unbelieveable.

My side stripe seems a little wide but it encapsulates the width of the panel.
At first I thought thats too wide but now I like it mucho.

Anyway.... Its a little distinction.

I will give it to my wife tonight. I have it parked over behind a bank beside the restaurant. During Dinner I will excuse myself and sneak out and move it over beside our car. Then when we leave it will be right there. She will ooogle it and
I will say "Dont you wish you had that" and when she says yes I will hold up the
keys and hit the unlock button on the remote.

Does anyone know the measurements of the stripes on the 2004 Auto show car? (Titanium w/ satin stripes)

Also, does anyone know what the dealer "pearl gold" rocker stripes look like? I've only seen black and white.
