Very nice stripes and wheels. I would have never thought of painting the stock wheels. I usually don't like black rims, but that is probably because I only think tey look good on a few colors. Mineral Gray happens to be one of them. They had a nice bit of contast whil matching your stripes at the same time. They also cause the lip of the rim to "pop" at you, which I think is a nice touch. I think the chrome spinners and the polished lip provide a good balance between black and shinny. All in all, you car looks kick hiney (ha ha ha, hiney). I think you should definately stay with the black bullitts. If you go for bigger rims, try to find a set of 18" black deep dish bullits with a chrome lip. Those are about the only wheels I think would look better on your car.

Had my stripes installed by a local Graphics shop. It just happened that I was the first stripe job done on an 05 and I was told by the owner that it was the hardest job he has ever done in 15 years. He also said he has since refined his technique thanks to the job on my car. I have 12'' inch wide by 2'' inch gap which really makes the car look wider. He also did a custom fader stripe with mustang logo along the rocker. The tint job and running pony logo were all done at the same shop. He gave me an awesome price for everything i paid $600 including tax.
Steve, do you have any lrger pictures of the picture from the front?

Nice stipes, fastrek. The more I look at stripes on the '05, the more I think they need to be spaced an inch apart. 2" looked great on the late 60's Shelby's, but after seeing the Detroit car and many other '05 Mustangs, when I finally get my stripes painted on (hopefully within the next month or two) I will be getting tapered 10"-11" stripes with a 1" gap.

Ian, you might want to think about the taper a little more. All the ones I've seen with the stripes tapered look like the installer screwed up.

As for the gap, since day one, I've thought the 2" gap was just a little too wide... but the 1" gap was just a little too narrow. I'm going with a 1.5" gap. Also the width of the stripes themselves has an effect on how good the gap looks (and vice versa)

No taper on mine and the lines look clean. They follow the flow of the existing hood and trunk lines. A buddy told me that I was making a mistake in not tapering and afterward he said he was wrong. 1" gap on 10-3/4" stripes matches the lines on the bottom of the front bumper perfectly. 1" for the verticle support brace and the 10-3/4" for the gap between the other two side supports under the grill.

I'm lookin into gettin a roush but i don't care for their stripe package. I saw some interesting color combinations on this thread and decided id try to do a couple really pathetic chops in Paint on some roush pics i found. Give me some feedback and tell me what you think of these color schemes. And mind you, these are the first chops ive ever attempted and they pretty much look like junk.
Hey, Tim...
Could you do a Paint with my white GT with silver or grey stripes? Could you do one with double stripes and then one with a center stripe? I'm illiterate when it comes to programs like that. Thanks....

I'll try to get that done for ya by friday if u still want me to do it then. And do you want that done on a regular gt or on a Roush like the other ones i did?

darth-bob I never realized it, but the overall width of your stripes is the same measurement I'm probably getting. 10.5" stripes w/ a 1.5" gap. I think I'll try to find some more of your pics and stare for a little while.

A regular GT would be great, that's what I have.....just whenever you can do it....no rush on it. I do appreciate it. Here's a pic of my white GT and the stripes I like on this other GT. Hope you can do it like that. Thanks...Carol

Ok, well as i said when i did my own chops, they were pretty bad, well the ones i tried to do this time turned out lookin about like the crappiest art job i've ever done. I tried it with a silver though and then a dark gray and have to say the silver didn't look all that good but the darker gray wasn't bad at all. Now i might still be able to get one done with the center stripe and stuff but the one with two stripes looked like total crap. And then i noticed how far off the stripes were from being lined up with the license plate lol...so when i get the chance ill at least try to do one with a center stripe to show you how that may end up lookin.

Well i was able to do this quick chop with the Roush i used before to give you an idea what the silver and gray center stripe will look like. Sorry i was unable to do the car with the double stripes. If there's anything else i can do let me know, im willing to at least give it a try.

Try using this site too, it may be able to help you out.

Thanks a bunch...that does give me an idea of what it may look like. I do appreciate your time and efforts. I tried the site and I really like the grey center stripe. I thought since I had the light graphite seats, that I'd try to match them. I like the center stripe better than the double stripe.

I'm glad to hear that I could help you out and that the website was very useful. And i agree that the gray stripes will look very nice, especially with them matching the graphite seats. And I too am a big fan of the center stripe. If you get them put on your car be sure to post some pics cuz I'll be curious as to how it turns out. Good luck with everything.

Well, what the heck. If everyone else is doing it, I might as well too.

9" wide stripe with a 2" gap.

Vinal kit from AutoTrim Designs. At the time of purchase, they had not developed the stripes for the rear spoiler. It has been ordered as of last week and should get here in the next couple of days.
