Yes, my incessant *****ing and moaning apparently wasn't falling on deaf ears. The regional rep, a very nice woman, made some calls and asked some questions and elevated my car to "hot" status. Not that it has any impact on the actual delivery but today it went from Ramp 51 to Ramp 5P. Without jinxing it, I'm hoping that that is the start of it moving this way.

Conversation with my dealer
My orginal ship date shows April 19 (which obviously passed) like others. I spoke with my salesman yesterday who told me his manager spoke with the zone manager. He told me there are 10,000 GT's on hold for "various reasons". He also said they should be released at the end of June, that June 27th looked like a good date. So, for whatever this is worth, maybe there is light at the end of the tunnel.

That's what I heard yesterday day too. The local Sales rep said that they will extend the date that my $750 private offer is good for.

FWIW, my dealer told me yesterday to my face that my 2011 V6 is being held due to the a-pillar trim shortage. You'd think that if they're all the same that they'd want to get a retail car out faster.

I was just at my dealer. They said 30 days as of last week, they were told that the GTs would come off hold. They also said no dealers have gotten them. So i said they are shipping GTs now, others have them, and dealers in Tx and Ca have them on the lots. He didnt know what to say. I told them im out at the end of next week. Im off for 2 weeks, and im going on the hunt for something. They said they would call the Rep, but thats not going to do anything. Ronn

Well if they did have to put in A-pillar trim on a few thousand cars that could take a few days to finish up once you factor in getting the keys, moving the trims to the cars, installation, and documentation that this car has had its A-pillar trim installed and the sheer amount of cars.

Not really trying to fan the flames of theories, but FWIW. It is possible that there may be a safety issue, to me at least that would make sense from the point of view of freezing cars that are already on trains in transit. And it could be something so prosaic, like less than standard seat belt retractors, which doesn't have anything to do with the quality or engineering of the vehicles, just a shipment of questionable parts.
Could these be remedied with a TSB or at the dealer? Probably not to the extent of ensuring that ALL cars involved are serviced. I ignore recall notices for months if it isn't convenient to go in and have it taken care of.
IF one of these cars resulted in a fatal outcome, it would be catastrophic for the family left behind, but also for Ford.
If even a hint of a problem like this were leaked, then everyone who even got bruised from a seat belt would be sueing Ford claiming this was a defective part.
I know nothing about what the problem is, and I have no doubt that the seat belts are safe, but there are scenarios where what is happening CAN be satisfactorily explained even if it is impossible to do so.
Sorry for the soapbox, just my 2 cents.

I lived in Frederick most of my life, even went to grade and high school there. Hated it when I was a kid, but now that I'm done with college I really miss it. DC is horrid.
