I agree, even a photo without being installed would be something!

The pictures tomorrow will not be a powdercoated piece, just the raw aluminum. When I start taking preorders I will have pictures of the black powdercoated.

Can we assume that this pic is upside down? And that the top edges will have some of the soft, rubber-hose-like padding on the top edges? I'm buying if that's the case. Thanks, Chris

This was upside down, correct. It's the best angle to take the picture and show the whole heat shield. This thing is suprisingly light for how thick it is. It's also VERY rigid. The edges are all finished, just all around top quality. After powdercoating, we're going to TRY and keep it around 55-59 bucks! We'll see what happens. We will also be including a new grade-A bolt as well, with a washer to protect the finish of the shield.

Oh, there's also a rubber pad under the mounting tab (shown in picture), because I know that everyone was upset with the paint in their engine bay being rubbed off. This will eliminate that!

Is the top edge going to have a rubber seal on it to seal up against the hood like the Stock CAI shields do?

Richard,

Yes it will! It's called pinch seal, and it's expensive. But we tried using the same trim that went around the rest of the shield, and it doesn't feel complete. So we're using the pinchweld stuff you normally see on top of the boxes.

Is there an attachment on the bottom that fits where the stock rubber mounting gromet goes?

You must be assuming two things: (1) that it actually rains in SoCal, and (2) that I would actually drive though puddles that are over a foot deep!

Thanks guys!

This bolts up to the bolt hole located on top of the "hump" just like it did from the air intake manufacturers. This thing is sturdy as hell! Wait until people see the quality in these things!

That thing looks great!

If there was no salt on the roads here in the Poconos I would drive down to your shop so I could be first in line!

Oh well, guess i will just have to wait for the Big Brown Truck to arrive.

Man that thing is extremely nice, I think I might want one. Any chance of a group buy? Might knock off 5 more dollars! TIA

I had an intake like yours on my 94 Supra. After a week of driving the filter looked as though I had been vacuuming the asphalt.
