Heat Shields for you 05-07 Mustang Intakes

I know the majority of us use JLT/C&L/Steeda...

I have talked about this in another thread. I want to get a count of how many would be interested in purchasing a high quality polished aluminum or black powdercoated aluminum heat shield with grommets for maximum radiant heat protection.

They would do away with the flimsy heatshields from the manufacturer, and offer much cooler air temps to the filter. I would start by offering a unit very similar to the ones now, only in sturdy aluminum with a rubber seal for the hood, and where the heat shield sits to eliminate rattle.

If they were good quality, fit, and finish I want to get an idea of how many would be interested in buying them if the price was right.

Let me know, and I can get a prototype done up, with detailed pictures to post. From there I could get an exact price per unit. Should only take a few weeks.

Let me know! Thanks

Just to clear things up, I am not trying to steer business away from any of the air intakes listed above. Those companies make AWESOME kits, and you still need to buy the air intake kit from the manufacturer. I am just going to make an improvement heat shield that looks nicer, and eliminates radiant heat and rattles. I do not want to start any troubles with JLT, C&L, or Steeda because they are

If we can get a few more people that are in on this, I'll send the prototype out tomorrow.

I'm very intrested, waiting for the price. Not sure how much heat you could get rid of right close to the hood but....

Black or Polished? I'm thinking about doing all polished aluminum, and leaving the option of powdercoated black for whatever extra it costs me to have them powdercoated.

I'm not sure how many people want polished, or black.

Awesome! I'm in too polished with a black powdercoat option would be great. Also as long as it doesnt touch the abs lines and mounts solid I'll be happy, Thanks Tillman

I put a grommet around the whole perimiter (where neccessary) of the shield to eliminate the rattles too.

Wont touch abs lines, will fit right in between them!

BLACK POWDERCOAT... Wow!!! I could TOTALLY go for this...

If the cost isn't TOO prohibitive I'm in as well.

I would love to see a product like this.

but what would really put it over the top is posting up temp readings comparing engine comparment vs. air filter temp once the heat shield is installed. But even if this was a purely cosmetic mod, I'd probably end up doing it anyways.

I can get the air temperatures. That shouldn't be a problem. It will be cosmetic as well. I will have the ones for all the JLT intake users in the next 2 weeks, C&L probably the following week.

Black powdercoat will be a little bit extra, I will have pricing on everything hopefull Friday, if not Monday.
