Heat Shields for you 05-07 Mustang Intakes
Let me see what I can do with pricing. It's going to be tight. The rubber, the metal, the powdercoating, the assembly. It takes some serious dough. I'm not trying to make a huge profit, here. Let me see what I can do!

It appears your shield only covers the filter on two sides so that the bottom of the filter is still exposed to underhood heat, right? It seems to me that it would be more effective if it also blocked heat from below like the Steeda shield and a few others.
The top of the filter is covered by the hood, additionally there are grommets that the hood actually "seals" with that stop heat from getting there. As far as from the bottom, the fenderwell is there.
This makes it a fully enclosed "box". Additionally, there are now rubber seals that close the "gaps" that were there before that allowed hot air to get in.
Also, I used a rubber seal in the "channel" that the air filter sits in. This is the most IMPORTANT part of the new design. When the air filter is pulling air, it even pulls from behind as well, just a tad. So now, the air filter is SEALED snug where it sits in that channel. No air can pass through those gaps and directly into the air filter. That "just a tad" was raising air intake temps. Which we want to lower now, especially with the use of a metallic shield.
We needed to use all of the sealing that we could, because aluminum transfers heat by contact, not radiant heat. So we did everything possible to keep cool, literally.
You'll see with the install tomorrow. Once it's powdercoated it will look much better too. Right now it looks like a hunk of spacecraft.

Yeah, there are some nice places up in this area. Especially during the summer when everything is green.
I'm definitely going to make a trip to your shop this spring. I can always use some new go-fast goodies (I'm giving a lot of thought to a Nitrous kit) and I'm hoping you can recommend a dyno shop to do some fine tuning.

We deal with Collingdale Performance, and we do SCT custom tuning. Would be glad to help you out. As far as Nitrous goes, we fill tanks here and carry NOS, NX, Zex, Compucar, etc.
Yeah stop down and check the place out, and we can give you some catalogs, etc. You can get a feel for what we do and what we can get!

OK some pics, Looks nice! What is going to happen with the two factory grommet holes that are used to hold the stock airbox. I dont see any piece of this that will fill or cover the holes. That piece is also used for bracing other than the one bolt that holds it in place. Because one bolt is not enough to brace these shields, every time the hood comes down its going to be bending etc. if it doesnt have more supports or bolts built in. Just wondering if I am missing some bracket or something in that picture. Does this piece not have that incorporated, or am I missing it. Does the other piece you are making have that incorporated, or are we still going to have two ugly holes there. Thanks for any info, and thanks for posting a pic.

Thanks!
The C-Series will incorporate the use of one of those 2 holes. The J Series will mount using the same as the aftermarket shield mounts now.
These are like night and day. Anyone who purchases this. Compare your plastic one with it. These wont budge. The picture doesn't do it justice. They look like crappy sheet metal in the photos. Wait til we get DETAILED photos. It turned out 20x nicer than my expectations. That NEVER happens the first time! LOL
