Reinstalls the same as the original, but uses a protective rubber underneath the mounting point for no rattles or scratches, as well as a snug fit for the bolt.

What if I don't want a black one? No body color or polished?

The C Version is coming along... it's being put on the backburner until May and then it will be rushed into final production and shipping. We just have alot on our plate right now!

At the rate he's moving on this, it's doubtful.

I can't drop all of my business for this thing. I'm getting to it when we can, and it will be released at that time. I appreciate everyone's patience, and they'll love it when it's released! It will be out before June for sure. I will start on it again May 1st after our car show is cleared out of the way!

From your first post on this on January 15th I quote: "Let me know, and I can get a prototype done up, with detailed pictures to post. From there I could get an exact price per unit. Should only take a few weeks."

I think we've exceeded a few weeks on this. I would have jumped on the C-Series earlier, but now I'm feeling a bit lack lustered about the whole thing. I realize you're working on getting the American Racing H pipe out, and have a lot of irons in the fire, but seems to me delegating this out to the fabricator and having him work on it while you worked on other things may have brought it to market quicker. You had a lot of people with a lot of interested in this, then if fell off the radar. Once you make people excited for something, they get put off when it just keeps getting pushed back.

This is my opinion only, others might feel differently.

I've been dismayed by the delays and rather than being more eager and possibly paying more after this long wait, am really thinking about fabricating my own. The plastic shield I have with the C.& L. has worked ok since we had initial word on this shield and the desire for it has waned. It is only an aesthetic and not a functional need anyway. The "It should only take a few weeks" in the post on January 15 is disconcerting to say the least.

This is Unacceptable

CR, When you start a thread to drum up interest and excitement in a product that YOU have decided to introduce, IMHO, YOU should follow through on it. How much freakin' racing was going on in January when you started this thread? I think it's pathetic to come on here seeking opinions and interest, find out there is a lot, and then completely drop the ball. You've done it here with the C&L heat shield and you're doing the exact same thing on the ARH H pipe. I realize in the header situation there's been a delay on the trial fitment due to a fender bender. Big deal, have you asked anyone else to substitute? I'm located in NH and already have an ARH system installed with catted X pipe. How about dynotuning mine to maximum performance, recording the results, and simply swapping out the X pipe with the H? I think this would be a lot faster and easier and I could be there on Monday.
If your idea of doing business is to put the needs of your customers last then do us all a favor and don't post here indicating you will have this or you will have that because THE TRUTH IS YOU WON'T! Put your play toys away and get back to the business you're supposed to be in!

Woah... the American Racing Header H Pipe option is out, and test fitment is scheduled for Tuesday. The preorders are already in, and they will ship next week pending test fitment which should be a-okay. I'm not sure what you're talking about there? We already have plenty of test vehicles, and will have dyno results, video, and audio next week with the test fitment? So this is already handled, produced, being sold. I don't know why you're saying there was a delay? I asked about it... and maybe 2-3 weeks later I was taking orders...

As for the heat shield... it was an idea... where it's turning into action. To be honest with you... just because there are no races in January doesn't mean we don't do business. As a matter of fact, January usually has the same volume for us than June. It's when all of the people are building their cars for the spring/summer. So we've had a steadily busy last 3 months.

If you don't want to hold out for the intake, don't! Nobody's taking time for "play toys" here. We work 11 hours a day on BUSINESS except Saturdays we only work 7 hours. We're going to offer the product when it comes out right.. rather than having 3 different modified versions because we had problems that cost us money to fix by releasing a prototype.

It's a HEATSHIELD... it's not something you need for the car to run. It's not a go-fast part... we're doing it to offer for the people that want to replace the one that's on there. If you don't want it... no big deal!

We already apologized for the delay... we're swamped up to our ears and need to take care of our customers who have already paid for other orders to be shipped out. That's putting our CUSTOMERS first. So I don't understand your basis of saying we're not putting them first? Once our car show, web design, t shirts, moving, acquiring a new dyno, and all the other miscellaneous things we have going on gets done, we'll have time for this side project that we made clear was a side project.

We appreciate the understanding. The product will come out when we get past our car show on the 29th. That will take alot of the workload off and we can return to the heatshield. It's not just thrown out to some engineer outside of here. We're engineering it and sending it to the foundry.

I will be giving someone a call who I have already spoken to in PM the first week in May for a test fitment, and assuming it goes alright, we'll have production done within 5 business days from then.

Thank you

CR

The H-pipe comment was only to say you're busy doing it as well as other things. Not intended to mean it was also delayed.

Yes, it's not a go fast part, but you got people eager for it, then back burnered it. Just leaves a bad taste for those who were wanting it for show season, that's all.

What He Said

I put on my C&L CAI a few weeks ago and when I saw the poor quality of the heat shield I didn't even bother to install it figuring you guys were going to have one soon. I thought for sure it would be ready by now but now you're talking June and it's still April. The fact is you brought this topic up several months ago and had a great response here. So where's the product? It's strictly a case of chasing the Benjamins elsewhere that's the hold up. I'd prefer you just came out and admitted it rather then the, "we will release no..... before it's time." Wasn't that used for a beer commercial? Anyway, I hope you at least are ready with it by June because it isnt the first time we've been blown off waiting for something from a supplier. It gets old after awhile.

Wow, you guys are a little hard up on the guy. At least he's working on getting something out to us. Designing, testing and finalizing is something that takes time, and with all companies, there are busy times. Give the guy a break, at least he's working hard on providing solutions for all of us.

I personally am more than happy to wait for a well made product. And from his reputation, it will be well worth the wait.. He's done a lot for people on these forums, and been more than helpful with his products.

+1 to that...

We have all had to wait for the Silverhorse racing shifter bezels and MGW shifter for months and months, but no one went off on them like you guys did to CR...

Don't "Granatelli" the guy please!

Cut him some slack - he's working on it, and it's not a "mission critical" part anyway.
