I'm usually there. I'll try to remember to post here before I go since I have other plans that decide if I'll be there early or late.

Coming Back to Life

Hey Guys!

Thought it might be about time to check back in with the Fort Worth Crew after a long, long time of being away. Glad to see that Treadhead and Falchion are still here, firing those posts back and forth!

Nice to see that Hooters is still having their gathering...I'll try to make it to one of those and see what you've done to your cars while I've been AWOL from the TMS forums.

Falchion: Where'd you get that iPhone mount for your car? I like that. Is it just a charger, or does it have any other connections on it? I had a dashboard mount that I made for my Sirius tuner that mounted between the center air vents on my dash, but instead of converting it to use on my iPhone I'd rather look at what's available on the market.

I'll lurk through here from time to time...let me know if anything special is going on...

Thumbs up HOOTERS

I will be at Hooters about 8pm if anyone is interested. If you haven't been before, the meet is in parking lot behind Hooters.

Coming Back to Life

Jimmy,

Sorry I didn't make it to Hooters this week...I'm packing for a trip next Thursday evening, but I'll head over there soon on a Thursday evening and catch up with you.

Now I'm curious...does your avatar yell "El Ka-bong" when he hits badguys with his guitar?

Have fun...

Gary

No problemo Gary. Regarding my avatar, yes he is quick on the draw and always breaking his guitar over bad guys' heads!

Sorry about the late reply. I didn't see it at first. Here's the thread where I talked about it. I got it from Amazon.com for $36.

Argh! No! Just got back from vacation. Didn't know it was this weekend.

Anything cool/new? I'm still dying to see a F-22 in the flesh.

Nothing new that I saw or heard about (didn't get there until about 1pm) but, fun none the less. I'm waiting on the F22 myself.

No, I didn't go either. I was meaning to, but I have to work some overtime to pay my property tax.

I just back from vacation too. One week at the beach in California, pretty cool, but I came back with a sunburn.

I'd like to see the F-22 too. I've never seen it in the person, just in movies and pictures.

Cleaning CAI

Hey guys, I finally just emailed Granatelli on how to clean our CAI and here's the reply:
Actually our cold air systems use an oiled type filter however it is not required to do so. You can go to your local auto parts store and pick up a K&N filter recharger kit. It comes with the oil and cleaner. Use that cleaner and rinse it out. After it completely dries you may lightly oil it.

Well I guess that clears it up although I would swear they said don't ever oil it.

Anyone ever just buy another filter to swap them out while cleaning the other?

Ya...I was thinking the same. Thought I'd just buy the cleaning kit and not put on the oil. But...wouldn't the cleaner have some pretty potent stuff to get rid of the old oil? I surely don't want to shorten the life of the filter by putting on stuff that'll harm it.

Hmm, how often are we supposed to clean them? My pony only has about 7800 miles on it.

I also thought that they were dry. But, they do look like all the other ones that are oiled?

I paid $1.89 a gallon for gas yesterday in Benbrook! It's $1.99 here by my house.
