Do you mean your having a hard time shifting into third? I had the same problem on the GT test drive that I took. I thought I just wasn't familar enough with the gear pattern on the Mustang......

Augh, I hate to hear that, Treadhead. I'll add you and your family to my prayers while you get through this.

Falchion, the AEM intake looks very nice. I had planned so many mods before the car arrived, and now I'm finding myself timid about doing anything at all. Well, I am just about fed up with the stock shifter, since it is poop for 3rd gear. I've embarassed myself more times than I care to think about, because of it. I'm debating between the B&M and Hurst at the moment, but I think B&M is leading at the moment after MLFD's recent review on the install and performance.

It isn't you, it is the stick, or a bad combo of the synchros and the stick, but either way 3rd is iffy find without grind on hard acceleration.

Thanks Joel. Last week was a week I could do without. Anyway, as far as 3rd gear goes I have ground them a couple times but nothing major for me. I feel the same way when it comes to putting mods on my car. I see alot of things I would like to do but, can't seem to get myself to do it.
Falchion, that intake looks great man. By the sounds of things it's working great too.

Sorry to hear about your loss Tread. I was on vacation last week (Oct 15-23).

We did a road trip to Corpus and Harlingen. Didn't take the Mustang...mixed feeling on that. Woulda been great, except the stretch on 77 where it was dragonfly and butterfly mating season of something (that's where I'm grateful we didn't take the 'stang.)

I like the CAI, Falchion. I'm with Tread and Blue. Maybe after the warranty runs our? Or a winning lotto ticket?

Thanks Ghost. I really wanted to take my stang to Georgia. I woulda made some good time getting there but there were five of us going. A family friend loaned us their Suburban(Yuck, I know) so we could all go in one vehicle. It has a 42 gallon gas tank on it so we made it on one gas stop. Filled it up at half a tank($72 and 26 gal) and 454 miles and made it the rest of the way on another half tank.

Putting the CAI on isn't supposed to make you lose your warranty, as long as you don't get one of those computer tunes at the same time....

Unfotunately it takes money too! Money which I have none of now nor in the forseeable future. :notnice:

P.S. Just wanted to add a feel good moment for me. I was driving to the Doctor yesterday for a check up on my back (impairment rating for Workers Comp)and a passenger in a car that drove past me was hanging out the window bowing to my stang as they went by. Made feel good considering my wonderful life lately. Anyone else still getting the love from others?

Memorable moments:
At different times filling up at Sam's, one lady came from 2 pumps down and asked if she could look at my car. Then asked again if she could peek inside the window. She then complimented on the car.
The other time, filling up, a lady was complimenting the car, saying how well it looked, blah, blah. Then she asked what it was. When I said, "Mustang", her jaw dropped, "Wow! Now I know why my son wants the new Mustang!"

I was driving home one night and stopped at a light. Was stuck behind 1 car. In the lane next to me, a van drove up, passing me then stopping at the street line. His rear lamps came on and then he backed up to park next to me and proceeded to compliment the car and color choice I made.

Hadn't had anything happen to me like the above in awhile though. Occasionaly, I see people doing the double take/rubber neck when I drive by.

I still swear I'm the only '05 Mustang on my corner of Fort Worth though. I seldom see another one. Maybe once every week..at most.

I've seen quite a few V-6's running around my neck of the woods lately. I think I even saw Falchions' rear end leaving White(West) Settlement today too. I've also seen several rental stangs running around Poly when I'm at work. I almost forgot about the Yellow one with red/orange flames that I saw on the way to the Doctor yesterday. It looked okay but, not my cup of tea.

Yeah, I've been seeing a lot more Mustangs myself. I saw a GT that was the same color as myself last week. And several others besides!

My car has been getting better gas mileage since I got my first oil and filter change a couple of weeks ago. I'm not sure if the new Cold Air kit has helped or not, too early really to tell.

I think it does give me better power on the Freeway though....

Well...I make that post and guess what happens? Saturday I'm at a light and a see a White GT with louvers and hood scoop drive by. Then see a Torch Red V6 at the intersection also stopped at the light. Then when I arrive at Target there's another Redfire GT (with wing) in the parking lot and when I leave Target, there's a Legend Lime GT parked in the row over from me.

Oh...and if it rains today, be sure to thank me as I washed and wax both mine and my wife's car Saturday. :bang:

Haha! Thanks for the rain Ghost! It never seems to fail. Last time I washed my car it rained so I think I'm not gonna wash it anymore. J/K!

I've seen a Redfire GT over here on the loop a few times now with a nice looking girl driving but, she ignored me the only time I passed her and tried to give her the wave.

Well yipppee for me! Just found out a couple hours ago that I have Strep throat!! Courtesy of my ex-wife who apparently transmitted it thru my kids just in time for me to go to the races this weekend with a really sore throat.

I also went to the Ford innovation drive today. It was fun. The Fusion is a really nice car.

I went by 5 Star Ford yesterday so that the body guys can look at that paint flaw on my roof. It's a small thing really, but I want to get it taken care of while the car is under warrenty.

Anyways, they had a lot of Mustangs there. Maybe 20 in all? Verts, V6's, and several GT's.

I got to look at the new "Pony package" in person for the first time, and I must say that it looks really a lot nicer then when I saw it in the pics I've seen.

I also got to look at the new fan blade wheels, and those also look better seeing them with my own eyes. I guess you just have to go down and see something in person in order to tell if you really like it or not.

I also noticed that the fan blades come with the BFG KDWS tires on them. That's the same as I choose for putting on my American Racing Casino mags. I really like them!

It looks like Ford is really giving a lot more Pony chioces for 06, then 05. But, I won't be trading mine in just yet! Maybe in a couple of years!

Nice is right. You would think she would at least give me the strep germs personally instead of a sneak attack.

I would swear I posted about the Innovation Drive a couple months ago or so when I signed up for it. I thought it was Thursday only but, some folks on DFWStangs said it went thru Sunday.

I went to all three races at TMS this weekend with my 5yr old son. Sore throat and all, I can say that was one of the best times I've had in quite a while. Our favorite Nextel Cup drivers finished 1,2,3 and my son was thoroughly excited the whole time. <---- My face this weekend!

Ya, Fal. The '06 choices are plentiful. I, too, must say I like both the Pony Package and Fanblades more in person. I'm definately not trading my car in though...not until she's old and grey.

I must've missed that post, Tread. Of course, once I got home and rolling in the family activities, I totally forgot to look up the Innovation drive...forgot about it entirely. Dang...I really enjoyed last years.

You didn't miss much! They started up the Ford GT they had there and rev'd it up several times. Man it sounded sweet! The supercharger whine was great. The Mustang course was basically a straight line accelleration course about a hundred yards or so. I was really impressed with the new Fusion and the new Explorer V-8. If I only had some more money I would get me a V-8 Explorer for family stuff.
