Mine still hasn't moved. And the date has changed to tomorrow.

I watched yours flying through the TX panhandle and NM over the weekend. You can say your car's been to TX!

Tom - are you there? How are you holding up?

Bill - any bets on who gets the call from the dealer first tomorrow? 13:18 your time is 15:18 my time

My husband is in Orlando this week. He called me today and said he just looked out his window to see a torch red GT convertible with black top and parchment interior drive by and he thought of me. awwwwww

Well, as of 7pm (PST), I'm down for an ETA of 12:57pm and you're at 2pm... it's anyone's guess!

Great part is that the weather will be sunny and clear for the convoy drive from Mira Loma to San Diego.
Hope both of our Stangs get to our dealers without incident.

Wish I can go pick her up on Wednesday! But, realistically is still pointing to Saturday.

I still haven't named mine or come up with a good license plate. Guess I'll go with whatever the State assigns me. I couldn't hope that "Pony" wouldn't be taken already in this huge state. And that's not very original anyway. I have "Plush" in the back of my head, as that's my favorite song ever, but still not completely resigned to it.

You guys gonna personalize?

As for me, I have a 3 hour drive to pick up Saturday and an instant roadtrip home. I'll probably work til noon then drive over to get her. Current forecast is 59 degrees with a 30% chance of showers. Crossing my fingers that the forecast will improve a little. I hope they still have those toasty heaters like my '89 had. I'll take my 13-year-old daughter and we'll have the ride of our lives back home.

Bill - looks like you're about to cross the California state line. home sweet home

It'll be a nice road trip for me as well. Taking the wife, son (11 y/o) and brother-in-law (he'll be driving our other car back). It'll be a nice 2 hour cruise back to LA.

I already got my personalized plates figured out; _GT4CS_
hint: CS is my son's initial

Why that? She'll be his in 5 to 6 years!

That's what I figured. Is she a 5-speed? Katie wants this one in 2 years, but I don't see that happenin'! I can't see giving her all that power at 16 - too much for her in the hill country. Maybe when she's 18. Or maybe I'll keep it

Well, after 4 days of sitting still, mine is on the roll again. I guess they were waiting for enough railcars to move the train. Poor baby was sitting still all alone.

At least when (if) I go to pick mine up, it's only a 10 minute drive.

Of course! I'll take it no other way!

I'll be sending my son to a 'real' driving school (not the lame High School Driver's Ed) before taking ownership (Fast Lane driving school). I also figure that growing up with the Mustang (driving in it, washing, maintaining, etc.), he'll be less likely to show off. Besides, I can always use the help washing and Zaino'ing! Susan

How are you guys tracking your rail cars? I finally got word today that it's on the rails somewhere in Illinois and asked Kzinti to check on it, but I thought what you & Bill were doing looked sorta fun! But then, I'm a little ticked that mine was built before you-alls, but has just been sitting there all this time up in the frozen north, right beside poor 'ol 89Trooper's, and you guy-ziz is on the move! Oh well, now I sorta know how Mr. Trooper feels!

Jim

Railcar#: ETTX711120 - I guess it's headed to Portland, but could be Spokane?

Here's your status:
ETTX 711120
Load Yes *Arrived NS FOSTORIA, OH 01/17/2006 21:00:00

I don't know what the asterisk means. But we think "Load" means it's still on the railcar. I think it will change to "Empty" when offloaded.

Enter your railcar number here:
http://c01.my.uprr.com/pet/motorVehicleTrace.jsp

just for kicks, you can see mine ettx901519

I'm nosy, so I'm tracking Bill's with him too. They sometimes change within minutes. Other times they sit for 4 days, like yours seems to be, and like mine did. Good luck and have fun, but try not to get addicted!

I decided to call Ford Customer Service this morning (1-800-392-3673).

I told her the story and she asked for my VIN. She gave me the order number, dealer name and number, and read off all of my ETA's (1/23, 1/26, 2/10, 2/11, and 2/17). Then she put me on hold. When she came back, she had called the dealer and the VOPC.

The dealer told her all he knew and said he wished he had it today to give to me.

The VOPC said it was definitely put on a Quality Hold. She said the total is 546 cars (I've heard 460 and 500, but I guess it may go up and down as they release and add cars). She said the car is there, it is safe, and it is being inspected with a fine tooth comb (her words). She said they were behind on the inspections, but they wouldn't let it ship until it was checked. And that it would ship as soon as it was done.

I then called the dealer and he said he is checking every morning now, not every other morning and the second he saw a ship date, he would call me.

The only thing that worries me is that there was no ETA after 2/17!

Well, it sounds like at least you're finally getting some answers, even if they're still a little vague. You have enviable patience.

I know some people that would forget about it and tell the dealer to just call when it shows up. I would like an update from Kzinti... I don't know why because I'm sure he won't have any dates since the dealer would see them.

Man I cannot imagine your frustration , I am so ready for my car and have only been waiting 4.5 weeks.

I finally called VOPC and got my rail car #, but my number is so different from any of yours.
Mine starts with CN and yours with ETTX. Any clues to why that is ?

PS, Don't hate me but, ETA on my railcar is 2-24-06 : 05:00
