Good question! In fact, how often is the UPRR trace site updated?

I'm trying to picture how the cars are parked/stacked on a railcar... have any idea? Hope they're covered!

I have my browser open and I just refresh when I think about it. I'm tracking your car too. Sometimes mine has updated in as little as 5 minutes. I am guessing that the cars have serialized tracking devices on them that are picked up by sensors at certain spots on the track. That would be why most of my track points say "departed city, TX". Train just flying by.

FYI, my car sat at Armourdale for about 10 hours, overnight on the 14th.

I really hadn't thought about how it's on the car. I thought it would be similar to the way they look when they're on the trucks on the road. But then those aren't normally covered, so I hope not.

Since mine moved about 30 miles in 6 hours last night, and hasn't moved since 3am, I am hoping that it's empty. The "arrived" location is only about 50 miles from the dealership. Somehow Kzinti can tell when the railcar is empty, but I can't read all that code in the tracker.

Arghhhh all the analysis and speculation! And I'm sure we're driving Tom absolutely nuts!

Now that's a detailed report! My screen only shows 2 lines; where it is and the final destination ETA.

How are you pulling up your report? Did you register through the UPRR site?

Side note for Tom: At least you'll have all your railcar questions answered before you have any.

That looks totally different from what I'm seeing... wierd. I don't show any of those codes and numbers.

Oh man, can't believe my build date is Monday! I'd love to be a fly on the wall, watchin it get built. Hopefully all the builders have a good weekend. Its a scary thought that the reliability of my vehicle is related to how good of a weekend they have (and thus how good of a job they do the next week). Yeah, I'm sure they've got it down to a science, and do a stand up job all the time, but if they had a bad weekend, they might not put that extra bit of care into it that'll keep it problem free for a longer time. 3 days to build!

Not to worry! The only weekend I'd be concerned with is Cinco De Mayo .... it's the Tequila!

For next Monday, I wouldn't worry.

Shaun - it's getting exciting for you!!! You'll be just waiting for Mr. K's response on Tuesday when he gets back. I'm sure the quality will be just fine. I think they build on Saturdays too.

Bill - I think I just figured out that L/E means "loaded" or "empty". So I'm watching for my car to display "Empty". Yippee!

Hello all my car is due to be built 2/22. I'm glad I'm not the only one bouncing off the walls! The 1800 automated demoness LOL stated my ETA to dealer is 2/26. Can that be correct? I just live east of Cincy OH. Any way good luck to all of you!

Bill - I bet my car IS outside. I don't know if they have the room to keep them inside or not. The dealer never called me back yesterday when he said he would... so I'm going to call again today.

Tom, have you tried to call the ERL lately? Maybe there's updated info that hasn't been conveyed to you yet.

See if your dealer will put you on a 3-way (only to listen) when they call the Analyst (or whomever) just so you know communication to Ford is being done.

Here's some older posts from folks that have shared the same grief..
Quality Holds
lot in Canton?

Have also read other 'Quality Hold' posts that some have waited up to 2 months past the build date before being released!

Hang in there Tom, others have traveled down your path before, and survived.

I called it once and I do believe they are calling the same thing because I know how hard it is to get them to tell you any info other than "it is on a Quality Hold". Between my dad and myself, we have bought 6 new/used cars from this dealer so I'm sure they are doing whatever they can to find out info. They truely sound as upset about it as I am. Even at the booth at the fair the guy sounded upset about it.

BTW, Susan... yes, we have a Rodeo in town and the Osceola County Fair.

I was also telling Susan that I realize I'm not alone... it just seems that way because not everybody is getting an update from Kzinti. If they make 1200 cars a day and 3 NEW people ask for an update from Kzinti per day, we are seeing about .25%. That leaves 99.75% of people that have no idea what is going on with their cars and at least 499 other people's Mustangs are being held with mine for the same reason.

I'll check out those other posts later when I get to work... I'm getting ready to leave now. It's strange, but the wait is somewhat getting easier. The initial "shock" of mine being the "only" one that didn't ship on the day it was built pissed me off, but now I guess I'm just accepting it. When I see that one guy, though, that ordered his car in January, then got moved ahead, then got it last week... well, then I get upset again, at least temporarily.

Oh well... maybe next week... (but then again it could ship today or tomorrow - I have seen some Sunday ship dates).

I'm not really sure he got moved ahead. Compare his dates to mine. He ordered a week ahead of me and received his car a week before me. (I think)

Oh... I was just going by what Kzinti told him.

A month hold is coming up for me... according to some of those posts Bill showed me, maybe my car will ship around the 24th?

No prob Susan! Just what I thought about the ETA, it's fluctuating like the stock market. I'm going with an ETA of 2/23, that's my best guess based on other deliveries to my dealer.

What's going on with your railcar? Got 'emptied' yet?

Can't believe the railcar takes several days to reach your destination AFTER crossing into Texas... must be a big State!

Wow! I didn't even notice they changed it from 2/20 to 2/19!

I suspect the railcar is empty and the car is at the dealership. Or in a truckyard somewhere or something. Mumford is 50 miles from the dealer. The only other explanation is if they had to take the train all the way down to Houston before derailing it to unload the cars. Yours is moving right along!
