wow, thats horrible, glad you are alright though for the most part.

This kinda reminds me of what happened to my friends band while on tour. They were stoped in traffic and an 18 wheeler plowed into them, flipping their tour van 7 times almost killing all of them. They all had seriouse injuries and after a lenthy court battle just won a 29 Mil. settlement from the truck company.

As others said, document everything, especially injusries with pictures and good luck with everything.

 

First and foremost, how are you feeling. My dad had a real bad accident similar to this in his 1966 Mustang when he was young. A mexican fellow fell asleep at the wheel and rear ended my dad while he was stopped at a light. The guy was traveling between 50-55 mph upon impact. The guy hit my dad so hard that when he flew back upon impact, my dads body broke the back of the seat. He told me that he couldn't lift his head for days and was in pain afterwards. This was back in the late 60s before people would sue for these types of things.

Personally, I would get a good lawyer and stick it to this hillbilly. Take a ton of pictures and get anything and everything documented. If that was me, I would have made sure I was alright and my passengers after the accident. Next I would I have walked over and puched the guy squared in the nose. Idiots **** me off.

 

I dont think her lowering her car made a difference in the accident. Whether it was normal ride height or lowered half an inch from the floor, her car was going to get crushed by a highered F350, that had its bumper no where neer avg. ride height

 

Those pictures made me sick. I can't imagine that happening and still be able to talk about it. Hope that guy gets what he deserves and more. Glad you came out of the accident alive. Hope you get well soon and Take care.

 

Glad to hear you're alright...here's to a fast recovery! I had a major accident like that a couple of years ago and its important that you get behind the wheel as fast as you can. I know that sounds silly, but even to this day I get a little scared....especially if I'm not driving and in control. And I had my accident 8 years ago! So what ever you do, just get in and get comfortable again. Best of luck finding another dream car! My thoughts and prayers are with you!

 

You're absolutely right. I was just curious because I was thinking of lowering my car (think there's a little too much wheel lip gap on stock), and I was concerned that it may have been a factor. I agree; no car would have survived that crash, regardless of the bumper height. I was just wondering if the damage might have been less intrusive into the passenger compartment if the Mustang was left at the stock height.

The important (and encouraging) thing is that someone can actually walk away from what is probably the worst rear-end collision I've ever seen! Credit must also be given to Emilee for having the presence of mind to get clear of what could have become a fireball!

 

All thanks to God that your injuries are not more severe. It shows that someone up there was looking out for you. I hope that everything works out for you.

 

I second that. I'm really glad to hear that you are alive and we are not mourning the loss of a fellow Mustanger and friend. I really hope that moron gets what comes whats coming to him. I hope his freaking grandkids will still be paying damages to your family. That dirtbag needs to suffer!

Looks like your mustang took the punishment pretty well, considering how much heavier the other vehicle must have been. And 50mph is lots of energy transfer. Glad to hear you're in relatively good condition. Here's to hoping the other driver gets what's coming to them. Good luck with your search.

 

Unfortunately it looks like Idaho does not have any laws about lifting a truck. However if they truck is registered in a different state he may be in violation.

Wow...just wow. I'm so glad you are ok. It looks like the only thing that stopped the truck from going thru you was its own tires getting wedged into your car.
