I think you were extremely lucky that this thing was jacked up ....

First off - SO glad you are alright (at least as alrgiht as you can be - heck, ALIVE!!)
This guy should be beaten with a rusty pipe in my book..... the last FOUR accidents I have heard about were people who were driving ILLEGALLY.... :bang:
Like JessicaRabbit and Clutch said, have your neck and back checked out thoroughlly - and as Clutch said, CHIROPRACTOR. I used to think they were bunk - had lower back problems - bad. Started seeing my guy and its AMAZING how it helps. And he and I figured out that the root of my problem was probably planted when I was 16 and in an accident - head on with a tree (passenger) at about 25 mph with NO seat belt on. Was fine for YEARS.... but as I got older, the problem developed.
Go to a chiro and be prevenative - it will save you a world of grief down the road.
I hope you get exactly the replacement car you want. Heck, I know any one in the backseat would have been toast... but an F350 at 50mph???... I think its a testamant to the contruction of the new Stang that you came out the way you did - especially with the truck raised up like that.
Get rest and get better!!!

So, so very glad you came out with only a few bumps and bruises. That was way too serious of an accident.
But, as others have said, it's good to know that our cars will protect it's driver's. Can't say the same for anyone who would have been riding in the back seat.
While I'm sure that there are plenty of ambulance chasers that I wouldn't trust out there, I would hire a lawyer you trust to handle this for you. You've got legitimate pain and suffering issues, plus you're new Mustang GT is gone.
Best to you.........!!!!!!!

Horrible. Along with everyone on this board, I wish you the most expiditious recovery, the highest compensation, and best of luck finding a new steed.
I have a carseat in the back of my stang....my daughter, the center of my universe, would not likely have made it through that.
the car seat comes out tommorow. she will ride in mommy's car from now on, an expedition.
upon seeing the pictures of this horrible accident, i tearily went in and hugged my sleeping little 3 year old girl. i thanked god to have her, and that this hadn't happened to me, then i said a prayer for you emilee. things like this can make you really sit back and think.
everything happens for a reason, sometimes it is impossible for us to understand, but there is a reason.
maybe your misfortune saved some lives.
I will search for a new stang for you too.
so sorry. so glad that you are going to be OK.

thats one of the first things I thought of as well, what if a kid was in the back...
terrible thought, very very upsetting.
dont know what I'd do without my "co-pilots".

You know, looking at that picture, you have to wonder if the added ride height of the truck is what actually saved the driver. the intrusive part -- being the front bumper was at the right height to NOT push any of the cabin forward. I have to agree that the trunk / side sheetmetal absorbed a majority of the energy rather than transfer it to the rest of the car (and driver).
A direct bumper impact may have been worse for the driver.
Wow. Thank god you came away from that accident alive Emilee, and that no one was in your backseat. That is scary. I wish you the speediest of recoveries, with no long-term physical or emotional effects from this horrific accident. Those pictures are truely shocking.
I hope the driver of the F350 gets punished to the full extent of the law. As for your Stang, like others have said, it is replaceable. Just get yourself healthy and then worry about getting a new beauty.

My God! That makes me sick. I'm glad you are ok. Hope you start feeling better soon!
I just don't think I will ever let anyone ride in my back seat again. My nephew rides in mine sometimes. It's sickening to think about what could happen...
I'm am just so shocked!

Emilee,
I'm very sorry, thank God you are OK. I thought my car was bad with hail dents but that does not even come close. I will be looking all over the Dallas / Ft. Worth area for you. There has got to be a screaming yellow GT out there somewhere.
Get well soon and don't worry, you'll get another mustang. Cars can be replaced... people cannot.

I am a firefighter, and we have to cut people out of wrecks all the time. That is one of the uglier rear enders I have seen. You are really lucky to come out of it like you did. I was also rear ended like that once, and pushed into the car if front. Fortunately, he was only doing about 30, my kid was in the back seat. No one hurt though, otherwise, I would have had to go to jail for murder.
Holy Crap!!!
Cars can be relplaced. Body parts can't. Glad your still in one piece and I hope that put that piece of crap away for a long time (but they will probably elect him senator if he isn't one already).... Hope ya find another one like it but my guess is your going to be getting an 06 (at least you can get 18 inch wheels first thing (ha). Anyway, you must have said your prayers from the look of that rear end. (WOW).
