Go to owner.ford.com and look near the bottom of the page for Safety Recalls. That should get you to a page where you can enter your VIN.

This thought has passed my mind. Only because I have made two trips to the dealer and was given the same answer. THE PARTS AREN'T AVAILABLE YET. The first visit was January 2, 2015 and as recent as today June 4 2015.

My question to the RESIDENT FORD SERVICE REP ON THIS FORUM is. Where are you getting your information that the NEW REPLACEMENT ARE AVAILABLE?

I have been watching this like a hawk. Even watched the Congressional hearings when the CEO of Takata was being grilled. I have never saw such a clueless individual in all my life. He had no idea why the bags are blowing apart. Nor did he have any idea when the new parts would be available.

Hey hobojack,

I’ve stated that parts are not available and to stay in contact with your dealer. I also mentioned as per the NHTSA Administrator Mark Rosekind; he encouraged customers to bring their vehicles in for service as soon as they are notified that parts are available, but that they should continue to drive their vehicles until then.

Then I miss understood. Some guys saying they had their bag replaced? With what? I wouldn't want to think a dealer is replacing recalled bags with current bags and charging Ford.

When the Takata story unfolded (in 2014), Ford responded quickly to the initial recall. They were trying to do the right thing by replacing the bags with what Takata said were good ones. Takata blew it again but Ford took the hit. Yes, it was bigger than anyone thought. Get in line.

Yes, hobojack. This was prior to the recall expanding. We’re sending letters out next month with more info.

There have been some articles where they have said exactly that. That some of the replacement airbags have been found to also be faulty. Mind you not just Ford but several manufacturers. The problem lies in with the supplier itself.

Also just got a recall letter in the mail today myself. I have checked previously and I was clear, but not anymore.

Mine is telling me however, that there is no replacement part, and that I will receive another letter when parts are available.

Son of a *****.... I'd unsubscribed from this thread back in January because I thought I was good to go when the dealer did the recall work back then. Then I get this letter yesterday. Judging on what I had to go through at the beginning of this year, maybe I'll have the recall (#2) done by Christmas this year.

got notices today for all three of ours, they dont know when parts will be available... just thought though, I may have a problem...the undriven 09 isnt going anywhere, wonder if the dealer would allow me to just bring in the steering wheel when the time comes? or just leave the original bomb in there- till if/when the time comes for that first drive

maybe they can(think that will be best) just do it later...I mean, back around 1990 I got a recall notice for my 69 mustang seatback levers...do recalls ever expire?

My notice has arrived, the parts have not. But I don't blame Ford for that.

I wonder how Takata will even survive this.
