I'm thinking the whole hood needs to be tossed. It's been contaminated. How could it be fixed.

I'm interested to hear how it turns out, but I think it deserves its own therad outside the airbag recall one

Great! You’re very welcome, John SCB!

I finally went to my local Ford dealer. They are ordering the part(s) and will call me in a few weeks. They said I can wait on the car as it will be less than 30 minutes. That's good news at least. I hope they do a good job without messing up my pristine interior.

I dropped my car off today. They had the part and didn't notify me. I'll just be happy to be done with this. Driving my car on salty roads to fix an airbag. Not what I wanted to do. Oh well. Get ur done and get ur home.

Why would you drive your Mustang on salty roads for ? You could always make your appointment in the spring to have your airbags fixed under the recall..

Once winter arrives, my car doesn't come out of the garage until spring arrives therefore I can wait until then as there's no deadline under the Ford recall !

Good point. It's all completed though. Sitting back in the garage. And it's still clean. Just a little fluffy snow.

I'm glad Mark, as your Legend Lime is still stunning and hope it remains that way for many more years still yet to come

I saw another mustang around the same year. Clean and shinny silver. He had the same thing in mind I guess.

I ordered my part over a month ago. No calls, no nothing. The local dealership said they would notify me. Why am I not surprised??

Same thing happened to me. You have to poke them and prod them. My part was just sitting there with no notification.

You should give them a call and check, NC07GTCS. Let me know if they have it or not.

I will, but just to see what kind of dealership I now have here in Franklin, NC I sent them an e/mail yesterday morning. Let's see if it is ignored. This dealership has had serious problems in the past and I even received a phone call a few years back from the regional VP that apologized after a very poor incident. Curious if it's changed any in those years since. All the good folks that used to work in 'parts' are now gone. I didn't recognize anyone this visit. I may go elsewhere if the e/mail is ignored along with the promise of calling me when the part comes in. I've had to go to other dealerships to buy my Mustangs and get repairs done. It won't be the first time. I just always hope for a positive change. I test drove a Fusion there when I ordered the airbag part. Everyone was nice so that's a start anyway.
