Relatively painless.
Thanks for the report. I'm taking my '05 in tomorrow. Last week, the parts guy told me he showed there was only one inflator in stock. He said he would hold it for my car; we'll see. Yes, I'd like to have the service done while I wait.

Guys - I expect this recall will require a battery disconnect. Remember there is a procedure for the ECM to relearn its idle and fuel trim strategy (see owners manual under battery page 205). Hopefullly the dealer will perform this but I wouldn't count on it.

She said the case has been escalated, but there's not too much you can do w/ HAZMAT stuff. 2 weeks for me
You’re very welcome, Cavero! Thanks for the info.

Well I took the car in this morning as scheduled with an appointment. The service writer said they were too backed up to do the work today. I was hoping to wait for a couple of hours for the work to be done. He said leave it overnight. No way. This is my only day off and I need the car daily. Gotta say I'm disappointed. Why bother making an appointment if they can't deliver?

I took mine in for the replacement yesterday. I didn't have a set time, but I did schedule a drop off with the dealer for yesterday. I figured on leaving it overnight. I dropped it off around 1:30 PM and got a call around 3:30 to let me know that the car was done, so the job doesn't take very long. I picked it up and you can't tell anything was done, other than the stereo & clock needing to be reset.

I’m happy to document your experience with them, John SCB. Please, PM me with your VIN, dealer, mileage, full name, and best daytime number.

Mustang is hibernating right now, so not going to worry about this until warm weather and good road conditions exist. Plenty of time to do this when spring arrives!

Got the driver's side airbag replaced on my V6 this morning. I had an appointment and I was in and out in 25 minutes. Oil changes take longer - I was happily amazed.

It's done. Today was a much better experience at the dealer than last week. I was there at 7am. As expected, there were other customers stacked up. The service writer was great. He got me in and out within an hour. Thanks Deysha!

I'm still waiting on a return call. We shall see. I left a message with the service department to make sure they have my correct phone number.

Still nothing on the vin site for my 08, and no notices by mail or email which Ford has both.
