No response. This is why I don't go there. I gave them this opportunity and IMO they failed, again! I don't trust them at this point to do the recall correctly. My GT/CS is too perfect for them to mess with. Thanks for the reply above Deysha but I don't want you to proceed on my behalf. I'll just go elsewhere or 'screw it' and hope for the best.
I have had 44+ years behind the wheel of many different cars. Ford dealerships are the absolute worst of any automotive company and that includes some of the nastiest Honda and Toyota dealers I have dealt with on a professional basis while in law enforcement in FL. The only good Ford dealership I liked was in Gainesville, FL along with several Lincoln/Mercury dealerships who definitely used to treat their customers a step above. I bought an '88 Merkur new, and had many issues with it, but the Mercury dealership was first rate and never gave me grief. This will probably be the last Ford product I ever buy 'new'. From the 1982 GT I bought right off the showroom floor to my current ride, I have loved the Mustangs to death but this may be the last one 'new' out of the wrapper. Thank heavens I have good independent mechanics for upkeep and repairs.

^^ Well said ^^
I have the same philosophy when it comes to anyone touching my car. I do all work myself whenever possible. There is only one independent I trust to use the same care I would expect from any professional technician. The person that comes up with a way to fill this huge customer market will make millions.

I understand where you’re coming from, NC07GTCS. I recommend bringing it to a different dealer, because this is not something you can ignore.

Out of the clear blue sky I get a call today. "Bring it on in." Why do I have a feeling someone was behind this.
I took a shot and crossed my fingers. It's done and there are no apparent issues. Glad that's over with.

My VIN was included on the owners site for the drivers air bag recall. I called the dealer and they told me I had to bring it in to them to confirm that and for them to check the parts they need. I brought it in, they checked it out and then told me they had to order the parts and they would call me. I still don't understand why I had to bring the car into them for them to "check" it. Why couldn't they order the parts going by my VIN and the year/model I gave them over the phone? Not a big deal but just wondering?

It's a marketing technique to get you in there to look at the new cars! I've seen the new 2015 Mustangs, but still prefer my '05.

Mike ! If you haven't received anything from Ford yet ? Check with Deysha on here from Ford service.. All you'll need to do is provide her with your VIN number and she'll inform you as to whether or not your car is on the recall list..

Anyway, hope this helps out

As m05fastbackGT mentioned, you’re welcome to PM me with your VIN so I can check for you, KdF!

Got this done back in January. Here we go again. Feeling sorry for Ford and the other builders that used the recalled air bags

Quote from Safercar.gov upon entering VIN:

Report Receipt Date: MAY 28, 2015
NHTSA Campaign Number: 15V319000
Component(s): AIR BAGS
Potential Number of Units Affected: 1,019,081
All Products Associated with this Recall expand
Details close
4 Associated Documents expand
Manufacturer: Ford Motor Company
SUMMARY:
Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain model year 2005-2014 Mustang vehicles manufactured April 6, 2004, to June 21, 2014, and 2005-2006 GT vehicles manufactured February 20, 2004, to September 22, 2006. The affected vehicles are equipped with a dual-stage driver frontal air bag that may be susceptible to moisture intrusion which, over time, could cause the inflator to rupture.
CONSEQUENCE:
In the event of a crash necessitating deployment of the driver's frontal air bag, the inflator could rupture with metal fragments striking the driver or other occupants resulting in serious injury or death.
REMEDY:
Ford will notify owners, and dealers will replace the front driver side air bag inflator, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin July 13, 2015. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 15S21. Note: This recall supersedes recall 14V802 in its entirety. Additionally, vehicles that have had their driver side frontal air bag replaced previously as part of a recall remedy need to have their air bag replaced under this recall as well.
NOTES:
Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.safercar.gov.

Just checked both my girlfriend's '08 Shelby and my '13 GT, and they both now have open recalls on them for this airbag BS

Good info ... I got the recall quite sometime ago, but just hadn't gotten around to doing it yet. Looks like I wait till after the new one is being done so I only have to do it once.

Luke do you know if they did the latest recall on your car? The post above says it won't be started till July and if you had the first one done it needs to be done again.

I just had the recall done on my 05 in March this year. But now when I go into the website safecar.gov, and type in my VIN, it states Recall incomplete, remedy not available. What the heck does that mean?

It means, like others have said above, that you got a defective part to replace the defective part, and the "remedy", the new/updated/non-defective parts are not available yet

Can someone please repost the link to check for recalls by vin on this end of the thread? As usual, the mustang source forum is not letting me go back to the page where the link is....so frickin irritating!!!
