Karpro, I ordered a V6 w/IUP on friday and the same thing happened to me...it wouldn't give a price to the dealer. I took it with a grain of salt since I knew about the IUP issues prior to ordering (thanks to this site) but I thought it may have been due to a price increase in the invoice price of the car itself which has also been covered here. My dealer didn't seem to concerned and I'm probably too stupid to know better anyway but I just wanted to verify that it happened to someone other than yourself too (for what it's worth).

If this is something that is going away permanently, don't you think they would remove it from the website?
Hopefully it is just a temporary delay. I know that suppliers pay heavily when they can't supply.

They key critical question is whether orders can be left in the incompatible error state until IUP is restored or must these orders be either changed or deleted.

it looks like anyone that doesnt have a build date doesnt have squat now, if they ordered IUP. which means someone that ordered in january could get a build date infront of someone that ordered a few days ago. Man is it goin to be a mad dash to the dealership when/if that option is opened again.

I agree. What should the poeple who have ordered but not been scheduled do? Wait it out or change the order? And has anybody determined if this in fact, is a permanent change to the option list?

FYI: if you ordered the IUP (18G) and the side airbags (43A), and you drop the IUP, you are also required to drop the side airbags - even if you don't switch to the sports appearance package (18R)
Thanks to Krapro for this tidbit.

MustangJohn works on the assembly line and only sees what is in front of him today, not what is coming next week or month. Karpro addressed that earlier.
Even Karpro (God bless him) has said he is not certain exactly what it all means. He gave us his educated opinion, but acknowledged the continued uncertainty.
Which is why Ford needs to step up to the plate and clarify the uncertainty for the buying public.
Things like whether suspended orders can stay in place as is and wait for the IUP to become available again; or do they need to be changed and resubmitted; what's the prognosis is for the IUP after January production; etc.

For those of you who are lazy (like me, but since I'm watching my Browns get smoked by the Chargers I got time) here are what I believe Boomer is referring to:
Blu on page 7:
Hey everybody...Calm Down! The IUP nearly didn't make the program b/c program people didn't believe that customers would pay that much for a 'Stang. But some design/marketing guys pushed for it by taking it out of the main program and letting the customer pay for it as a stand alone option. They guestimated that it would be a 20% take rate. That's turned out to be 80%. The 05 is selling at a higher price than prev models and taking owners from new areas (BMW, Audi, etc). So all this is pleasently surprising to Ford. Their working on it but it takes time to get raw material and ramp up production (especially if it's 4x what was projected). Remember, Delphi has their supplier's too. Be patient and don't get the mob mentality and flame Ford. They will get it right.
2MustangJohn on page 2:
I don't know where you guys get this info from, but we're building lots of IUP GT's and from what we've heard at the plant, there's no reason to believe that it will end soon (well, except for the shutdown which is from the 24th to the 3rd). The lawsuit, if its true, may affect that, but no word yet on it, and in truth, may not ever hear about it. Delphi might have some issues with it, but Ford is just the end user, not the supplier or inventer.
(now in 5 years
(or more
) when my Browns do well (ya right
) I expect a return favor in a long thread like this)

I'm begining to wonder if the IUP is being saved for the convertible that is comming out in the end of January ? Has anyone checked to see if the IUP is still avalable for that ?? This could be a possible reason why there is no IUP for the GT and V6 that are not in the system yet?
