Everyone comes up with these complicated theories, and Amy simply states in one word what the entirety of this thread has been expressing.

HolderCA1 why dont you call your dealer and find out if your car was built......

Then get back to us.

:nono:
Thats what I was thinking when I saw in his sig. that he has a build week of Dec. 13th with IUP. You might have bad news..... [/b][/quote]
It was built last week, it's on a train right now.

I called a ford dealership here in los angeles and they just said the company that is making the parts for the IUP is having problems keeping up with the demand, thats whats causing the delay.

SUPER PISSED

Just called the dealer my car HAD a build date of 12/15. Dealer just now went on line and it has been kicked backed to "submitted to plant" I had the fleet manager run a check on all orders and EVERY SINGLE ORDER got kicked backed to "submitted" all build dates have been reveresed.

URGHGHGHGHGHGHGH :

Any order with a 18G line code that is not on a trailer right now has been stopped.
I ordered my 05 Mustang GT-Premium w/IUP and Spoiler on October 20 and was on a Temp Delay until the end of November when it was submitted to plant and given a build date this week, and I got the news today that the car WAS built on December 14 and is on its way to CA, with an ETA to the dealer week of December 25.

As far as I know I got everything I ordered as the dealer never called to let me know of any changes.

BTW if you go back to the first post in this thread Karpo talks about orders that had not be scheduled for build would be affected by the latest holds, and if you had a scheduled build date you would be fine.
Karpo's post also talked about JANUARY production, NOT DECEMBER.

Another member (Mustang John) that happens to work at the plant where Mustangs are built reports lots of Mustangs being built w/IUP.

I'm really starting to believe this is supplier problem and not a legal issue with the MyColor. IF there was an injunction related to the MyColor, they wouldn't still be building them with IUP. Of course, this is assuming that they are indeed still building them with IUP.

Just ggot another e-mail that may be better news. I read it to say that it is just a supply issue, not a legal issue. Sounds like we could be back in business for February production. Keep in mind, after tonight no orders will get pulled until at least January 6th.

Mustang with Interior Upgrade Package (18G);

Due to the Christmas holiday, we were optimized to bring in almost 50% of January's orders (including 18G) during week 49. As a result, it is necessary to eliminate the remaining January balance-to-schedule for this package - an edit message will appear in CONCEPS disallowing 18G and recommending the Interior Sport Appearance Package (18R). We recommend the following actions:

· Order GTs with 18R.

· Change GT orders with 18G to 18R.

Also in the U.S., to prevent a high mix of GT base units (without 18G or 18R) from being pulled while orders are being changed, we are not scheduling GT base units (without 18G or 18R) for week 50.

We apologize for the huge inconvenience and appreciate your understanding.

Karpro: What in that email makes you think it's a supplier and not a leagal issue? Not challenging you... just curious.

I would guess it's this:

It sounds like they used up the January allocation of parts in December.

Karpro?

I re-read it a couple of times... kind of wordy... but I'd say yes, Karpro does seem correct in his reasoning... as usual!

I think you have nailed it.

The 50% is the key piece of info, the run rate on IUP is about 50% according to the market projections. As part of pulling in Jan orders it looks like they pulled in the bulk of January IUP parts.

And since there is still an ever growing backlog of IUP orders (evident just by looking at the posts here) Ford has put their foot down and forced a full month of non-IUP production just to get the balance closer to plan.

The message is clear, they want more non-IUP orders. The lawsuit is not a factor.

Looks like mine just squeaked through under the wire. It was built 2 days ago for which I am thankful.

Thanks Karpro ~ I was actually thinking that maybe they just wanted to give delphi a few weeks to get the my color going & to get a small surplus of them.

Also I called the Ford Customer Service Relationship Center tonight & the guy I spoke to said that my car was built like today & that the ETA is 1/10. I am cautiously optimistic & will be calling them again at least twice tomorrow (hoping for 3 different & that all 3 say the same) & am then calling my dealer Sat.

If it's true then I will soon be joining you guys in the banna dance. If not then I am still banging my head against the wall. Either way I feel for ALL of you guys who are ready to storm the Ford plant & build the cars yourselves.

Cheersmates

BTW Is it possible to go from "submitted to the plant" to "built" in 4 days with an expodite order?

Does the hold apply to Canadian cars too?
Just because our gauges are in French (KM) instead

Probably. Only the escutcheon is different on the Canadian instrument cluster(s).
