FYI: if you ordered the IUP (18G) and the side airbags (43A), and you drop the IUP, you are also required to drop the side airbags - even if you don't switch to the sports appearance package (18R)
Thanks to Krapro for this tidbit.
Do you have to drop the ICAP wiht IUP lite too?

Yeah well I haven't recieved a vin yet, although I have a build week of 1/3.

SMERRILL ~ You may want to consider editing your post with the VOPC number. There have been several posts with this # before & ALL have been edited so as to not include the #. Becuse many here will tell you that it is a private number & should not be posted as Brad could possibly get into trouble for having it posted. Just a sugestion.

Craig ~ I haven't got a serial/vin number yet. Did you get your before it was schuled or after? I do however have a build week. So I am hoping that soon I will be recieving the vin.

Anyway. Happy Holidays Everyone
you have made the assumption that i got the number from Brad. I was not aware this was a private # and find it hard to believe that it is. I got the number from someone at the dealership. i dont want to get anyone in trouble so accept my apologies. thanks for the suggestion.

smerrill ~ no need to apologize. I actually don't know if it's a private or public number. All I know is what has been posted on previous threads. And I just meant that the previous posts had stated that Brad could get in trouble for it bring posted on his website, since he's the owner of the site, wither or not he posted it.

Anyway. I could be wrong about it being a private number & in all actuality there may be nothing wrong with posting it. You would have to ask karpro & people like him who actually work for dealerships. I actually think it needs to be posted. By that's JMO.

Anyway. Sorry for any confusion. I didn't mean to upset anyone. I was just basically repeating what others had stated on previous, similar threads. Anywhoo.

Happy Holidays Everyone

*sigh* i'm guess i'm joining the list of people who have a compatibility error. I'll wait it out till march at least, and then decide what to do.

yeah same here, called the VOPC # and have "compatibility error". I won't change my order off of IUP unless forced to by FORD. Nothing to do but wait and live vicarioulsy through all you lucky folks who have their cars.

Put me in the compatibility blues column...what are we supposed to to with that info, sounds like they wont build the car until the order is corrected????????????????? They say nothing about the order error being because of a shortage, boy, how about some real answers and straight shooting from Ford, not LINGO, compatibility error indeed!!!

Trying to approach this logically... it appears to me that Ford has a computer system for ordering cars and then they have an 800 number for dealerships to check the status of orders. Being in IT, I can tell you that it's not uncommon for two systems to be out of sync with one another. Likewise errors can be misleading. Has anyone been able to confirm what "compatibility error" actually means business wise? Is your car on order and delayed? Or are they forcing people to change their options? If the latter, shouldn't the dealerships be in touch with the customers ASAP?

From everything I am seeing, I would venture to guess that Ford's ordering system is dated and not very intuitive or informative. Probably the process of blocking new IUP orders caused the system to kick back the "compatibility error". Again, is it just a resulting error or have you actually been kick out of the queue?

If anyone who is getting that error has more info from their dealership, please post.

has anyone tried calling the ford customer care 1-800 number to ask what a compatibility error means?

I am definately NOT going to to that, No Fx@#Y&&g way, you have to give up to much, I am going to excersise a little patience and just ride this out, I would be kicking my self in the hiney down the road everytime i saw IUP equipped Stang, I will give it till the spring( late March), latest, then i plan on making a lot of noise.

I asked my dealer today, "Do I have to switch from 18G to 18R?"
His answer, "Well Ford is not going to build with 18Gs until after Jan31st, and we have not been told when the 18G will be reinstated."

My Dealer also confirmed
18R is only chrome looking shifter and steering wheel. Also you can not get the side airags with 18R.

Sounds as though it is a lot to give up. I will try and wait it out.

Just called the Customer relations line and was told the same "Compatiblity Error". I asked what does "Compatibility error" mean and the gentlemen did not know, and he asked me to get my sales manager to look into it.

wait wait wait....

If your build date is TODAY...what would everyone's guess be on a GT ordered with IUP? Yey or Nay?

Oh, and to the guy who said this isn't a english paper...it makes you seem ignorant when you do not use correct spelling and/or grammar. Try communicating with intelligence. It is easier on everyone's eyes and brain.
