Rumoured power outputs for '15

This kind of gives me a head ache. Just buy what you want people! To me it's kinda worth having a GT just for the sound alone.

I agree with you, Pete, but I figured it would be posted soon enough, so I may as well do my bit to keep stirring the '15MY pot
Haha.......I did wonder if anyone would pick up on one's use of the Queen's English

Btw
2,4,6, or 8. Loud or quiet.. You know you're still gonna buy it!
If you don't... then you cannot play with the rest of us and you have cooties.

First I've heard of a 2.5 litre 4cyl Ecoboost. There's 1.5, 2.0, and 2.3 (although not in production yet). Not dissing, but the trend is to optimise the volume per cylinder, and 2.5 is a stretch.
Ford have been quoted as saying that the optimum volume per cylinder is 0.5 to 0.6 litre. http://www.sae.org/mags/aei/10965
I wouldn't bet against 5.0 making that much grunt.

Remember, Ford realizes that there's a market for six cylinder Mustangs and they sell more 6s than they do 8 bangers.
Does it make you uncomfortable knowing that the upcoming V6s could be hot the heels of the current line GTs?
Remember, we want that! We want Ford to continually surpass hp expectations...and every year to come out with something faster. It's technology. We should embrace it.
Example: In 2003, the Cobra almost pushed 400hp but needed a power adder to do it. Years later, the reintroduction of the 5 liter brought even better numbers without forced induction. No one frowns upon an NA car nowadays. Back then, people scrambled to add SCs to their stockers.
Ford realizes that the six cylinder is highly affordable, practical, and economical, for the practical working man. That is why it was redesigned for 11 to pack a punch. Consider the economy and other factors.
That being said, the six cylinder is their bread and butter. It's logical that the numbers would be boosted more in the future to entice buyers and survive with the rest of the bow tie and euro boys peddling their go carts.
Once again, mentioning a 305hp V6 in 2009 would get you laughed right out of the treehouse.

Not to start anything but I've noticed (by posts) you just don't like new V6. Your connotations and tone suggest this. I'm not sure why?

to it if it is to stay the "base" mustang. If you want more power you'll just get the GT and no one wants their daughter in HS driving a 400hp v6 mustang.

400hp v6... More dads than daughters driving a car like that. How awesome would that be?!

The same way an LS does. Camshafts. We still don't know much of the NA potential of the 5.0. With VVTi and a proven 444Hp it may not be as hard as we think. Head port/polish, different cams, tune, intake. Look at what gm accomplished with mostly port shape.

All of it sounds quite unlikely, but the 400hp NA V6 sounds the craziest. With enough technology, you could get 400 out of a NA 3.7 but what would it cost? That's 108 hp/liter from an engine that was originally designed to be a mainstream engine, not a sports car engine. Yeah, it could be done but why put all that money into the middle engine instead of the Coyote?
