when will the group buy people receive the progressive springs? If I read your post right, you said you sent them to the people that purchased them after 4-10,,,,I'm confused now,,shouldnt the group buy people get them before the people just now ordering them....

all the people that are getting their shifters shipped last week and this week ARE the group buy people. the reason some have gotten their shifters sooner than others is due to them wanting to wait on the mgw bushings. we only received a small batch of bushings in last week so we decided to at least get some more people their shifters out rather than send bushings to the first people that have already installed their shifters. so instead of mailing out springs and bushings in 2 different shipments we are waiting on a new shipment of bushings which will be here monday and then the guys that got the first delivery batch will get both springs and bushings
again just to reiterate we have NOT shipped any shifters out to anybody that was on in on the initial group buy!!!

MGW Shifter Feedback
Let me start by saying this is one of the nicest most complete kits I have had the pleasure of receiving. I was on the initial group buy and have had the shifter for a few weeks but just got around to installing. I have read about the different springs and such and wondered if I should have waited for additional testing and upgrades/improvements. After driving the car for a 100 miles or so I don't think I will be installing the progreesive springs. I had the shifter installed originally with the throw at 8 turns out and the handle flush with the bottom of the bracket. The shifter worked flawlessly and was a pleasure to drive. I did not notice the springs being a tight; however, I thought the shifter was a little tall. I lowered the height of the shifter about 3/4" and left the throw 8 turns out. This brought the shifter height where I wanted it but it was amazing how the springs now felt stiffer. This had me thinking about the progressive springs but after driving for awhile I'm confident I'll leave the shifter as delivered. Although this is not a daily driver for me and if it was I may want it a little looser. Bottom line is the shifter is great and George needs to be commended for delivering such a great product at a reasonable price. Don't hesitate to buy this shifter you will not be disappointed.

I just installed the shifter on Friday. I'm really diggin' it. This sucker is just asking for 3rd gear. Quiet, solid, and well built. 6300 rpm shifts are finally effortless. Thanks George!

Thanks Tacobill, but I can read just fine. I was wanting assurances from the manufacturer as that statement is not 100% clear. I most certainly don't want to plunk down the cash for this only to discover that later the mechanism is reworked to adapt to different shifter arms. If I buy one of these I'm taking something of a chance because I do not like the current arm design. My preference is for a flat Hurst stick.
Well, inspite of the noreaster, I installed the MGW shifter today. The install was fairly simple, thanks to TacoBill's excellent intructions and Gerorge's video on his site. I ordered the shift stops but after reading the instructions and the warnings, I decided not to install them. If you are thinking about ordernig this shifter, make sure you specify what type or shifter handle you want and talk to George about whether or not you need the shift stops. His instructions warn that if you install the shift stops, there is no warranty and you may damage the shifter, the transmission or both.
Tha rain is falling sideways here on LI so I'm not taking the car out. I installed the shifter adjusted 12 turns out, which is the max. At this setting, the throws are reduced by 50%. My shifter came with the stiffer spring and although I have not driven the car yet, it feels just right. The shifts are really tight. I may have to adjust the throw a little further but I won't know until I actually drive the car. I can't wait!! This is the tightest shifter I've felt thus far. The throws are much shorter then the tri-ax, the Roush or the hurst. This is an excellent piece of equipment!

I got mine installed this weekend and as everyone else has said , it's not that bad. Again , this is thanks to TacoBill's write up and Georges video and instructions. I can see now why George suggested using a lift , it's hard to get both hands into the same place at the same time using ramps or stands. I haven't driven it much yet , but I'm starting to get used to how positive and short the shifts are compared to the stock shifter. I've got the handle set as low as it will go , I may change this and raise it a little. I got it set to about 8 turns out and the throw is plenty short enough for me. So , all in all , I'd have to say George

You sent out SOME shifters from the GROUP BUY ... but NONE with the NEW BUSHINGS? Or did I read that wrong?
That said, I drove another mustang with the MGW shifter and it's very nice. There is no noise or vibration with the MGW and the shifts are effortless. MGW's shifter feels like it has just a slightly shorter throw than Steeda.
To me the Steeda shifter has a stripped down race car feel and the MGW feels like it should be on a $200,000 supercar.
Just got done installing the MGW shifter,,,,,3hours 5 minutes.....
two jack stands jack, and two boards to jamb behind the rear tires...
thanks to good MGW instructions and tacobill's write up, the install was a breeze.....
A couple of things I had to do to make it work right for me, was to turn around the MGW shifter bracket so that the allen bolts didnt rub against my shift boot. not a big deal at all, perfect now.
when I put the shifter boot back on I found that reversing it worked better because the shifter lever now sits a little further back.
my first impression was: it was a little stiff side to side but not to bad, I will probably install the progressive springs.
this shifter is very smooth and I can shift it with one finger, and reverse and fifth are a breeze, unlike the pro 5.0. I drove for about 20 mile and had a smile on my face the whole time.

Ok, I have another 25 miles on the shifter and have switched it from 11 turns out to 6 turns. much better and less notchier.
I finally decided that the weaker springs are going to be a better choice for me. The only thing I really can't get used to, is the way the shifter sits so far back. It kind of feels like my elbow is jabbing me in the ribs when I shift into second. I know what some people are going to say: switch it to the 50% (12 turns) setting and it will not shift so far back,,,,well, I tried that and it was a little to notchy for me. don't get me wrong, I love this shifter, but george wants feedback positive or negative....
anyone else think that the shifter in second or fourth sits to far back between 15% shorter and 35% shorter????
George, any thoughts on making a smaller shifter bracket so that the shifter doesnt sit so far back?

If you really like your triax then keep it. I have one and I like the raw feel of it. I'll admit that it took a lot of adjustments before I got it just how I like it but it's a very solid part in my opinion. When I first installed it I missed 3rd a few times at the track but then I put some lithium grease on the brass bushing and I haven't missed 3rd since.

just rotate the black shifter handle all the way around to 12 o'clock and the shift **** will be up towards the stock postion
near the dash. i deliberately made the block this way because some drivers have short legs but long arms and have to sit up close but do not want the shift **** back too far..

As I said before , I had set mine to about 8 turns and installed the progressive springs and had the handle as low as it would go. But after the first day of driving I raised the handle about 1/2" and now it's a lot easier to shift. I love how positive the shifts are and how quite the shifter is. George , I assume the way you designed the support arm as a separate piece with a rubber isolator is why your shifter has so much less vibration than the other ones with the rigid support. Anyway , great job on this
I was going to try the progressive springs, but after driving for a couple weeks now, I don't need them. The springs I have feel like they have loosened up a bit (might be my imagination) and feels a lot better. I do have mine at six out, also, and am not going to change a thing.
