I just got back from Wal-Mart & Auto Zone - spent $55 for fluids.

7 quarts of Mobil 1 5W-20 (an extra quart in case the turbo and lines hold some oil)
2 gallons of Prestone 50/50 Any Make/Any Model coolant
1 jug of windshield washer fluid
1 container of synthetic power steering fluid
1 bottle of Diet Mountain Dew

All the exhaust is finished! But... one of the cats was welded on wrong (figures I would get the one wrong one in existance). It'll still work, for now, but GMS sent me out a new one right away. The only problem is the heat shield is on the wrong side (and it can't be flipped due to a 90 degree piece of pipe attached). I'm not overly concerned about it since there are all ready heat shields on the car right above the cats.

He said if I wanted to take it to a muffler shop to get it fixed today, he would pay the bill - but I opted for a new cat. So, I'll have to replace that one section of pipe later on.

I won't lie - the exhaust was tough. My dad and I worked a long time making sure every clamp was on perfectly and that everything cleared. I even was able to get my muffler tips perfectly straight again!

I dread changing that section of pipe again, but oh well! J.R. has been extremely helpful through the entire install!

More Mountain Dew

Lookin good man. We still going to see this baby on Thursday?

Yep! More Mountain Dew! At least it's Diet... no carbs!

The nose should be going back on tomorrow afternoon - so unless there is a major malfunction I'll be there Thursday! *Fingers crossed*

Both cars will be filthy - no time to clean them!

Tom,won't be able to go to Roush show. My car has a white hood on right now. ended up taking hood to a custom shop..He said to drive for a week with new hood so that it doesn't warp or flex later on. Your car is da bomb now.I'll be waiting for pics of your trophy

I really hope to get one for the '89 because of the hood fiasco last year.

You should still come! Your hood is up and nobody sees it!!

Is there more heat with twin turbos?
NO - not really - most twin turbo kits mount the turbos down lower (like under the car) as air goes under the car it takes the heat with it. if you have a TT kit that mount the turbo's behind heat head lamp then 2 turbos make 2x the heat as one

Well...

I think the tune needs to be tweaked. I've been planning on taking it to the guy that programs the tuners for GMS (Scott Beer)... he's in FL.

It stumbles when the boost starts coming in, so I'll have to wait to see how I really like it until he dials it in.

I have no vacuum leaks, exhaust leaks, intake leaks, etc... so the only thing left is the tune.

I can still drive it - I just have to be really easy on it. I'm taking it to the car show today that I've been busting my butt to get it done in time for...

It looks good, though!!!

Good deal, I'm sure they'll get it dialed in.

Here are some pics of the finished install. Don't count the smudges and dust against me - I didn't have time to clean it.

I do have replacement black couplers to change out the blue ones with - haven't had time to do it, yet.

Attachment 35786 Air filter does not touch power steering reservoir, white lip, or hood insulation.

Attachment 35787 Check out the new radiator cover decal!

Attachment 35799 Before

Attachment 35800 After!

Attachment 35788 Shaker engine cover trimmed. After about 20 fitment tries (seriously).

Attachment 35789 Tried this out with the Shaker tube. Doesn't look half bad... Look at thumbnail above for further away shot.

Attachment 35797 There IS clearance between the turbo / radiator hose / brake lines.

I will after I get the tune straightened out. It will need some adjustments before I can really get on it.
