I did a lot today, although it doesn't seem like much.

I mounted the power steering reservoir in the new location. The hoses go right to the reservoir now and the "single-pass" power steering cooler is eliminated to make room for the intercooler:

I mounted the intercooler (this at least made me feel like I was making some progress):

The thermostat housing has to be removed and modified. The pressed in tube has to be removed, hole tapped, and brass fitting installed:

The last shot I took today is of the section that has to be removed out of the passenger side headlight support. This makes room for the 3" tube coming up from the intercooler:

Doesn't seem like much, but the learning process takes time, too. What took me the most time was getting all of those hose clamps off of the thermostat housing. They are baked on pretty good.

Hose clamps in the engine bay are a PITA to get off. Looks like you are making some pretty good progress.

Tomorrow I hope to make a lot more progress.

I can't do any of the exhaust install, yet. I ordered another roll of exhaust wrap and 2 cans of exhaust coating. The coating is meant to put right on the pipes and/or to spray over the coating. This all won't be here from Summit until Tuesday. Wrap comes with the kit, but I don't want to skimp.

I'm going to spray all of the exhaust pipes (black), wrap them, and spray the wrap. This way they'll look good and will really cut down on the heat in the engine bay.

I'm also going to spray all of the visible intake tubing with semi-gloss black 500 degree engine enamel. This will be just for cosmetic purposes.

When you say the exhaust wrap, are you talking about the ace bandage looking wrap you can see on the tubing running from the turbo?

My dad was over helping and what really kicked our butts was the new location of the thermostat housing. It just wouldn't fit in like it was supposed to. I finally notched out the bracket that supports the ABS module and it really made it easier to get into position. As hard as we tried, the thermostat housing and the bracket just wouldn't share the same space. I'll bet we spent close to 2 hours messing with that thing until I was satisfied:

I layed in the intake tubing from the intercooler to the throttle body for fitment. Where it's circled is the area that needed to be cut away from the headlight support (not shown, but in that area):

You can also see where I dumped all the oil on the ground and had to waste time cleaning it up.

I'll do little things through the week and hopefully wrap this up next weekend!

I knew I'd be too picky to finish it in one weekend!

This is a very detailed thread. As owner of GMS I am happy to see a loyal GMS turbo fanatic. We do try very hard to service each customer the best we can. It is hard to belive after all this time people are still talking about the who copied who BS. Granatelli has been known for inovation not imitation for years. We have lead the way is both road race and drag race suspension components for years. I agree there are a lot of similarities on the product you can purchase from several different Mustang shops and manufactures. The fact that they look alike does not mean they are copies. When factoring what parts to purchase for your cars or trucks or even your homes (the scenario never really changes) Let the retailer or seller of the product tell you why their product is the best. All too often people cling to the stroy "owe theirs is just a copy of ours" that does not speak to why their product is good or bad or how it functions. I am one of the few manufactures that comes here from time to time to particapte while most other hide3 or use an alias. Not to get off on the wrong subject or thread Jack this one. her is a double thumbs up to 89trooper for doing an EXCELLENT job on detailing his entire install - For those interested here is a shop tour of GMS

Tonight I'm priming and painting all the visible intake tubing with Ford Semi-Gloss Black ceramic 500 degree engine paint.

The extra wrap and exhaust coating will be here tonight from Summit, so I'll be able to start wrapping all of the exhaust tubing (5 pieces total).
